Diddy hit with another setback as old controversy returns

Dawn Richard has made new claim about Diddy, saying he used her old vocals on his 2023 album without her permission.

Although her voice can be heard on ‘The Love Album: Off the Grid,’ the singer says she got no part in making the record and didn’t work with him for many years.

Richard spoke about the issue during an interview with Angela Yee on October 20. She was there to talk about her new album ‘Creole Culture’ but the conversation also brought up her past work with Diddy.

She, however, explained that the vocals he used were not new recordings. They were actually made while she was working with his group Diddy Dirty Money, on its 2010 album ‘Last Train to Paris.’

The singer said she already moved on from working with Diddy when the vocals appeared on his later album.

“He stole that vocal. That was a Dirty Money song,” she said during the interview.

Richard also remembered how hard it was to speak about her past during Diddy’s trial, saying going through those memories again was painful.

Her comments came after a judge dismissed her 2024 lawsuit against Diddy in June because most of her claims were filed too late.
