Sophia Bush recently got candid and opened up about her relationship with her One Tree Hill co-stars Bethany Joy Lenz and Hilarie Burton Morgan.
For those unaware, the American teen drama television series created by Mark Schwahn, which ran for nine seasons from September 2003 to April 2012, cast Bush as Brooke Davis, Burton as Peyton Sawyer, and Lenz as Haley James Scott.
Bush conversed with PEOPLE magazine to promote her new memoir, And I Will Tell You Mine: Notes from a Life in Progress, where she reflected on her bond with her former co-stars.
She said, “I mean, we’ve all known each other for, now longer than we were alive when we didn’t, and they’re some of the longest relationships of my life. One thing I really value is that no matter what anyone’s going through, we wait for each other.”
The Grey’s Anatomy star added, “I think that’s really important when you have friction or ease, that no matter what, you’re there, whether it’s easy or hard. That’s something I really do appreciate about all of us.”
Bush went on to state, “We got a real gift in each other. But it’s not a TV episode gift, it’s a real-life gift, and that comes with real-life stuff. It’s a lot of love that I have and that I know we all do for a long time.”
Notably, all the friends tried to strengthen their bond by co-hosting a podcast titled Drama Queens, which started in 2021 but ended in 2024.
It is pertinent to mention that Sophia Bush’s memoir, And I Will Tell You Mine: Notes from a Life in Progress, was released on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, through Flatiron Books.
