Senior Pakistani film and television actor Asim Bukhari passed away in Lahore on Thursday after a prolonged illness, his son Ajlal Bukhari confirmed in an Instagram post.
His son wrote in an Instagram post: “The janaza will depart from our residence, House No. 127, Street 2, Northern District, Bahria Orchard, today (Thursday), and the namaz-e-janaza will be offered after Asr prayers”.
The 76-year-old had been suffering from kidney and heart ailments for quite some time and had been under treatment at a hospital in Lahore for the past 15 days. His condition worsened, and he went into a coma last night.
During his long and diverse artistic career, Asim Bukhari showcased his acting talent in numerous TV dramas, stage plays and films.
In showbiz circles, he was regarded not only as an experienced actor but also as a mentor to many, having guided several emerging artists.
News of his passing has sparked grief across the entertainment industry and among fans, with many artists and admirers paying tribute to his contributions to the field.
