Rain delayed the toss for the Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) 11th match between Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Friday.
The start of the game remains uncertain as the outfield is wet.
Ground staff covered the field with tarpaulins in an effort to protect the pitch and playing areas. Officials are monitoring weather conditions closely to determine whether play can begin later in the day.
The delay has raised concerns of a potential washout. If the match is abandoned, it would mark the second game of this tournament to be called off due to rain.
Earlier, the Islamabad United vs Peshawar Zalmi match on March 31 was abandoned after persistent rain prevented any play.
Defending champions Lahore and Multan had faced each other 21 times, with Multan Sultans leading the head-to-head record with 11 wins, while Lahore Qalandars have claimed 10 victories.
