A manhunt is underway for the individual who shot and killed a dentist and his wife in Columbus, Ohio, just a month before their fifth wedding anniversary.

The Columbus Police Department said officers responded to the house on Tuesday morning for a wellness check when they found Spencer and Monique Tepe dead with gunshot wounds. Dispatch records state that Spencer was shot “multiple times” and Monique was shot “at least once through the chest.” Two young children were found safe at the house.

According to WSYX, police don’t believe their deaths were a murder-suicide. Officials added there wasn’t a gun recovered at the scene and there were no signs of forced entry.

Here’s a timeline of events associated with the shooting of Spencer and Monique Tepe:

The first 911 call was placed by the owner of Athens Dental Depot, Mark Valrose, where Spencer worked. Valrose called 911 and requested police conduct a wellness check at the Tepe residence after Spencer didn’t show up to work.

“Spencer works with me and he did not show up to work this morning and we cannot get ahold of him or his family,” Valrose said. “He is always on time and he would contact us if there is any issues whatsoever… we’re very, very concerned because this is very out of character and we can’t get in touch with his wife, which is probably the more concerning thing.”

“We just came here and he appears dead. He’s laying next to his bed, off of his bed in his blood. I can’t get closer to see more than that,” the caller said. “I can tell he’s obviously not breathing or anything.”

A baby was also heard crying inside the house, according to the dispatch records.

In a statement released Friday, the couple’s family said they are “heartbroken beyond words,” and called the deaths “tragic and senseless.”

“They were extraordinary people whose lives were filled with love, joy, and deep connection to others,” read the statement. “Spencer, a graduate of The Ohio State University, was known as a devoted and proud father, a loving partner, and a friend to everyone he met,” the family statement said, adding that he was “intelligent, warm, and endlessly welcoming.”

Spencer was involved with the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization, his family said.

January 5: Police release video showing “person of interest.”

Columbus police released surveillance video showing a “person of interest” walking in the alley near the Tepes’ house in the early morning hours of Dec. 30.

A man could be seen walking slowly in what appeared to be a dark coat and light-colored pants.

“Detectives believe the murder of Mr. and Mrs. Tepe occurred sometime between 2:00 and 5:00 a.m. on the morning of December 30th in the upstairs of their residence. Recovered video footage shows a person of interest walking in the alley near the Tepe’s residence during that timeframe,” Columbus police said in a Facebook post.

January 10: Monique’s ex-husband arrested.

Michael David McKee, 39, was arrested in Winnebago County, Illinois after allegedly killing Spencer and Monique.

Court records in Ohio show Monique filed for divorce in 2017 after getting married to McKee on August 22, 2015. McKee has lived in various states, including Virginia, Nevada and Illinois, since 2020, according to public records. McKee recently moved to Chicago, Illinois, and is a vascular surgeon in the Rockford, Illinois, area.

Charging documents indicate police were able to identify McKee by linking him to a car that arrived in the Tepes’ neighborhood shortly before the murders and left just after the homicide. The car was then located in Rockford, Illinois, and police found evidence it belonged to McKee.

McKee was charged with two counts of aggravated murder.

Fergie’s fall a warning to Meghan?

Fergie's fall a warning to Meghan?

Will Prince Harry’s wife Meghan Markle keep her dignity intact without a royal title?

It seems quite difficult for Sarah Ferguson to keep her dignity intact without a royal title as she’s been struggling to adjust to life since her fall from grace.

Life without a $40 million mansion and royal perks is whole different ball game for Fergie.

The Duchess of Sussex might be sticking to the royal title for avoiding the same fate as she’s aware that surviving without royal clutches won’t be easy, not until they have carved their own niche as celebrities.

Dropping the title would’ve meant starting from scratch, and the couple’s decison clinging to it seems to be a savvy move.

Ferguson has enjoyed a life of luxury as part of the royal family.

Now, it has been a rude awakening for Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie’s mother to rebuild her own reputaion without royal perks and honours.

Fergie reportedy feels humiliated after losing royal status and adjusting to life outside Windsor Castle.

However, Meghan and Harry have a different story. They had conflicts with some royals and disagreed with certain traditions, which led the couple to start a new life in California.

Interestingly, they still keep their Duke and Duchess titles even though they’ve publicly expressed reservations about being part of the royal family.

The former duke and duchess of York’s example may strenghten Meghan and Harry’s decison to continue with their royal titles.

king Charles stirpped Andrew and his ex-wife of  their Duke and Duchess of York titles last year over their connections to Jeffrey Epstein.

Ferguson “finds the situation humiliating beyond belief,” sources explained to Radar.

The insiders went on to explain that the couple are still at loss to understand that “how egregious it was to associate with Epstein and to lie about it.”

In her chummy 2011 email to Epstein, the former Weight Watchers spokesperson “humbly” apologised to him after publicly distancing herself from him a few weeks prior.

Hollywood meets Bollywood: Will Smith eyes Shah Rukh Khan collaboration

Hollywood superstar Will Smith is hoping to make Bollywood debut.

Speaking at the Dubai premiere of his National Geographic series Pole to Pole, the Bad Boys actor revealed that he has Shah Rukh Khan as his co-star in his mind.

Furthermore, Smith shared that he had previously been in talks about working with Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, saying, “I was talking to Salman. We had things we were talking about.”

“I was trying to get into something with Big B, you know. He told me I could be Big W, so we were cool, we were sharing the title. There were a couple of things over the years… nothing panned out,” Smith added, as quoted by Bollywood Hungama.

Specifically calling out Shah Rukh Khan, the Oscar-winning actor said, “I want Shah Rukh to put me in something, Shah Rukh what’s up.”

Pole to Pole with Will Smith is a seven-part National Geographic docuseries following the actor on a 100-day journey from South Pole to the North Pole. The series reportedly was five years in making, exploring all seven continents.

It is set to premiere on January 13, 2026 on National Geographic.

Josh Allen, Bills outlast Jaguars to advance to the AFC divisional round

Josh Allen, Bills outlast Jaguars to advance to the AFC divisional round

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Buffalo Bills needed a touchdown. Down four points with just over four minutes remaining in the game, the ball was in quarterback Josh Allen‘s hands, just as the team would like.

After Allen launched a 36-yard pass to wide receiver Brandin Cooks, he then brought the ball down to the 1-yard line on a tush push play to set up the game-winning score. The quarterback punched it into the end zone on the following play, with the Jaguars letting him score.

On the Jags’ ensuing drive with less than a minute remaining, the defense did its job to preserve a 27-24 win, as cornerback Tre’Davious White tipped a Trevor Lawrence pass and safety Cole Bishop came away with the game-ending interception.

Allen led the Bills once again, putting on his postseason Superman cape despite being banged up in the first half — requiring two trips to the medical tent, including one for a concussion test that had to be cleared — to aid a struggling rushing offense that put up its lowest total of the year.

He completed 28 of 35 passes for 273 yards, with one passing touchdown and two rushing touchdowns. Wide receiver Khalil Shakir was his security blanket, catching all 12 of his targets (the second-most catches in a game in Bills postseason history) for 82 yards.

For the first time, the Bills won a playoff game after trailing in the final two minutes, following the script of their many comeback victories this regular season. And for the first time under coach Sean McDermott, the Bills won a playoff game on the road, keeping their Super Bowl ambitions alive.

Most surprising performance: Defense in the second half.

The final two quarters are when this Bills defense has usually thrived, but the opposite was the case against Jacksonville. After allowing only seven points in the first half, Buffalo gave up scores on the Jaguars’ first three drives of the second half, including consecutive double-digit-play touchdown drives. The Bills’ inability to stop the Jaguars continued to put the pressure on the offense.

But when the Bills’ defense needed a play most, it came away with a game-ending takeaway to seal it, just as it has in some of the biggest games this season.

Trend to watch: Injuries have been seemingly unrelenting for the Bills this season, and Allen was not immune to that trend. The Bills QB didn’t miss a snap, but the team continued to lose other significant players, and their absence was felt. Safety Jordan Poyer did not return after halftime because of a hamstring injury, and wide receiver Gabe Davis, a former Jaguar, was carted off the field with a left knee injury (he suffered a season-ending torn meniscus in his left knee last season).

Stat to know: The Bills are now 19-0 when leading at halftime since the start of the 2024 season (including playoffs) — the only team with a perfect record in that span. They continued that trend despite struggling early in the second half and falling behind in the fourth quarter. The victory also broke a streak of eight consecutive road playoff losses for the franchise (since the 1992 AFC Championship Game). — Aliana Getzenberg

The Jaguars’ season ended with a heartbreaking loss at home, but there’s optimism that the franchise is going to be a consistent playoff contender.

The Bills’ game-winning touchdown with 1:04 remaining and Lawrence’s interception off a deflected pass with 54 seconds to play will sting all offseason, but that shouldn’t put a damper on what Liam Coen did in his first season as a head coach at any level. The Jaguars won 13 games, which included an eight-game winning streak to end the regular season and secure the AFC South title.

The Jaguars also set a franchise record for points scored (474) and Coen seemed to unlock quarterback Lawrence, who had the best season of his career with 38 total touchdowns and more than 4,000 yards passing. But the Jaguars weren’t as crisply against the Bills as they were over the final two months of the season.

Lawrence (who had thrown just one interception in December) had two picks, kicker Cam Little (who hit 68- and 67-yard field goals this season) missed a 54-yard attempt at the end of the first half, and the defense just couldn’t put enough pressure on Allen (28-for-35, 273 yards).

What to make of the QB’s performance: An up-and-down day for Lawrence. He threw a first-half interception (his sixth in three career postseason games, tied with Patrick Mahomes for the most since 2021, per ESPN Research) and came up short on a fourth-down rush inside the Bills’ 10-yard line because he dove forward when he didn’t need to in order to get the first down. Lawrence rebounded for most of the second half with two touchdowns, including one to Travis Etienne Jr. with 4:03 remaining. But the game was sealed with a Lawrence interception with less than a minute to play in the fourth quarter.

Biggest hole in the game plan: The run game in the first half. The Bills’ defense ranked 28th in the NFL, but the Jaguars didn’t run the ball as much as expected in the first half despite having success when they did. They ran it 11 times and gained 99 yards, including 51 yards on four carries by Bhayshul Tuten. Despite their effectiveness on the ground, the Jaguars threw it 15 times in the first half, which ended with them trailing 10-7.

Turning point: The Jaguars allowed the Bills to move into scoring position on their final drive when Allen hooked up with Cooks for a 36-yard reception to the Jaguars’ 20-yard line just before the two-minute warning. Cooks was wide open behind CB Greg Newsome II, and S Antonio Johnson was unable to get to Cooks in time before the ball arrived. Linebacker Devin Lloyd hit Allen as he released the ball, but Allen was still able to get enough on the throw. The Bills scored the winning TD five plays later. — Michael DiRocco

Apple tops global smartphone market in 2025, says report

World-leading smartphone company Apple has always been popular, but this year the newly introduced iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air series have given it another push to accelerate revenue.

Counterpoint Research said on Monday, January 12, 2026, that global ‌smartphone shipments rose 2% year-on-year ‌in 2025, lifted by stronger demand ‌and economic momentum in emerging markets.

As reported by Reuters, Apple led the market with a ‍20% share, the largest ‍among the top ‌five brands, supported by solid demand in emerging ‍and mid-sized markets and strong sales of the iPhone 17 series, said Counterpoint analyst Varun Mishra.

Manufacturers pulled ‌shipments forward early in the year to get ahead ‍of tariffs, but the effect eased as 2025 progressed, leaving second-half volumes largely ‍unaffected, the firm said.

Samsung ranked ‌second with a 19% share on modest shipment growth, while Xiaomi placed third with a 13% share, backed by steady demand in emerging markets.

Furthermore, the global smartphone market is expected to soften in 2026 ‌amid chip shortages and rising component costs, as chipmakers prioritize AI data centers over handsets, Counterpoint research director Tarun Pathak said.
