Super Bowl LX preview: Patriots, Seahawks stage epic rematch 11 years later

America’s most loved and watched game, the NFL Super Bowl LX, is approaching with its dazzling lineup of sports events, called the ‘Super Bowl week.’

The victory sprinkles are still falling for Denver and Seattle, the winners of their conference championships.

The Super Bowl LX matchup is now set: the AFC’s second-seeded New England Patriots against the NFC’s top-seeded Seattle Seahawks.

The two teams are now set for a showdown at Levi’s Stadium on February 8, 2026.

The fun fact is that it will mark the first time in Super Bowl history that both the teams will be led by quarterbacks and coaches who are essentially new to their franchises.

It’s a spectacular convergence of fresh faces on the NFL’s biggest stage.

Let’s break down what the odds are for the Patriots and Seahawks.

This time, Super Bowl LX features a rare quarterback showdown: both Drake Maye and Sam Darnold entered the season without a playoff, a scenario that has happened only twice in the past four decades.

Seattle is chasing its second Super Bowl title; it won the first one by blowing out Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII.

The Patriots’ Super Bowl blueprint explained

The Patriots, led by MVP front-runner Drake Maye and Coach of the Year Mike Vrabel, are New England’s astonishing one-year turnaround, spotlighting elite leadership that could power them to a Super Bowl triumph.

The Patriots can clinch the victory because elite coaching and quarterback play are what define champions.

Drake Maye is an MVP, Mike Vrabel is Coach of the Year, and this transformed roster has the formula to finish the job.

The Seattle’s Super Bowl blueprint explained

For Seattle, playing championship-level football has boosted a top defense in scoring and the eighth-most yards in the NFL.

Sam Darnold delivered a strong season, mostly connecting with NFL receiving leader Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

The Seahawks’ success is led by their defense, which allowed the fewest points in the NFL.

While Seattle excels overall, its defense is a true championship unit.

To win, the Seattle Seahawks must run on a Patriots front that was shaky until the playoffs. Doing so would provide them a real shot at a second Super Bowl title.

Where to watch Super Bowl LX?

Super Bowl LX will be played on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium, in Santa Clara, California.

The championship game will be broadcast by NBC at 6:30 p.m. ET.

TRENDING RUMORS

Dro Fernández will join Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona in a deal worth more than the €6 million release clause included in the midfielder’s contract, AS reports. PSG are paying over the release clause as a symbol of the positive relationship between the two clubs despite the 18-year-old leaving the club. It comes after there had been tense episodes between the clubs involving the likes of Marco Verratti, Neymar and Lionel Messi.

Liverpool are preparing a fresh move for Fulham and USMNT left back Antonee Robinson, according to TeamTalk. He would replace Andy Robertson, who is in talks with Tottenham, per ESPN sources. Robinson had been on Liverpool’s radar last summer, although they signed Milos Kerkez instead. They now see a partnership of Robinson and Kerkez as the ideal scenario. Robinson is reportedly keen on a move to Anfield.

Fulham have made a bid of €32 million for USMNT forward Ricardo Pepi, sources told ESPN. Pepi is out of action due to a broken forearm in early January, an injury that is expected to keep to him out for two months. Sources told ESPN that the Dutch side are looking for a fee closer to €35 million for the striker.

ESPN Brasil report that West Ham and Flamengo have agreed a €41.23 million deal for Lucas Paquetá. The only details left to iron out are when West Ham will receive the payments. The Premier League club want all of the money paid within 12 months.

TeamTalk reported there is a battle to sign Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic between AC Milan, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea. Vlahovic’s contract is due to expire this summer, which would make him among the highest-profile free agents available. He is keen on a move to the Premier League, although Milan are reportedly confident in signing him. Crystal Palace‘s Jean-Philippe Mateta is another striker on the radar of both London clubs.

  • Power outages surge past 840,000 customers nationwide.
  • Tennessee reports over 300,000 customers without electricity.
  • More than 19,000 flights cancelled since Saturday.

WASHINGTON: A monster storm barreling across swathes of the United States has killed at least 10 people and prompted warnings to stay off the roads, mass flight cancelations and power outages, as freezing conditions persisted into Monday.

As the storm dumped snow, sleet and freezing rain across the wide expanse, officials cautioned that an Arctic air mass behind the system would see temperatures fall dangerously low for days, prolonging disruptions to daily life.

The US National Weather Service (NWS) told Americans to expect more of the same weather conditions into Monday morning.

New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani said five people were found dead outside over the weekend in freezing temperatures. While he did not confirm the deaths were weather-related, he told reporters “there is no more powerful reminder of the danger of extreme cold.”

In Texas, authorities confirmed three deaths, including a 16-year-old girl killed in a sledding accident.

Two people died in Louisiana from hypothermia, the southern state’s health department said.

The PowerOutage.com tracking site showed more than 840,000 customers without electricity as of Sunday night, mostly in the US South where the storm intensified Saturday.

In Tennessee, where a band of ice has downed power lines, more than 300,000 residential and commercial customers were without electricity, while Louisiana, Mississippi and Georgia — where such storms are less common — each had over 100,000 outages.

The outages are particularly dangerous as the South is being walloped by treacherous cold that the NWS warns could set records.

Authorities from Texas to North Carolina and New York urged residents to stay home due to the perilous conditions.

“Stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary,” Texas’s Emergency Management Division posted on X.

The storm was moving Sunday into the northeast, dumping snow and sleet on heavily populated cities including Philadelphia, New York and Boston.

At least 20 states and the US capital Washington have declared states of emergency.

Residents in the capital Washington awoke to a blanket of several inches of snow on sidewalks and roads, followed by heavy sleet.

Federal offices have been preemptively closed for Monday.

Several major airports in Washington, Philadelphia and New York had nearly all flights cancelled for the day.

Tracking site Flightaware.com showed more than 19,000 flights into and out of the country had been scrapped since Saturday.

President Donald Trump, who was riding out the storm at the White House, said on his Truth Social platform Saturday: “We will continue to monitor, and stay in touch with all States in the path of this storm. Stay Safe, and Stay Warm!”

Polar vortex

The brutal storm system is the result of a stretched polar vortex, an Arctic region of cold, low-pressure air that normally forms a relatively compact, circular system but sometimes morphs into a more oval shape, sending cold air spilling across North America.

Scientists say the increasing frequency of such disruptions may be linked to climate change, though the debate is not settled and natural variability plays a role.

But Trump — who scoffs at climate change science and has rolled back green energy policies — questioned how the cold front fit into broader climatic shifts.

“WHATEVER HAPPENED TO GLOBAL WARMING???” the Republican leader posted.

The NWS warned that heavy ice could cause “long-duration power outages, extensive tree damage, and extremely dangerous or impassable travel conditions,” including in many states less accustomed to intense winter weather.

Authorities warned of life-threatening cold that could last a week post-storm, especially in the Northern Plains and Upper Midwest, where wind chill lows were forecast to dip to extremes under -50°F (-45°C).

Such temperatures can cause frostbite within minutes.

Protein, Gut Health And The Indian Plate: Why Everyday Nutrition Is Getting A Reset

Last Updated:

As India embraces protein, fibre-rich foods, experts highlight widespread protein deficiency among women and how everyday staples are being reimagined to support long-term health

As India rethinks everyday nutrition, protein and gut health are no longer optional considerations. They are becoming foundational to how the country eats one roti, snack, and meal at a time.

As India rethinks everyday nutrition, protein and gut health are no longer optional considerations. They are becoming foundational to how the country eats one roti, snack, and meal at a time.

As Indian consumers grow more conscious about what goes on their plate, protein and gut health have emerged as central pillars of everyday nutrition. With more people actively seeking protein-rich, fibre-forward, clean-label, and nutrient-dense foods, the conversation has shifted from supplements and niche diets to staples that fit seamlessly into daily meals. Responding to this evolving mindset, ITC Limited has been steadily strengthening its health-first food portfolio, rooted in science, accessibility, and familiar formats.

According to Dr Shantanu Das, Vice President & Head of Food Sciences, Foods Division, ITC Limited, protein deficiency remains one of India’s most under-recognised nutritional challenges particularly among women.

A silent but widespread gap

Nearly 70% of Indians do not consume adequate protein in their daily diets, Dr Das points out. The gap is even more pronounced among women, with an estimated 50–80% falling short of their recommended intake. Despite protein being essential for muscle strength, metabolic health, hormonal balance, immunity, and recovery, awareness around its role,  especially for women across life stages remains limited.

“Protein is not just about growth,” he explains. “It is required to maintain, repair, and recover the body throughout life.” Yet, in many Indian households, protein is neither consciously planned nor evenly distributed across meals.

Where women fall short

Indian women across age groups typically consume less protein than required. While the general recommendation ranges between 0.6–0.8 grams per kilogram of body weight (roughly 50 grams per day), many women consistently fall below this level. The requirement rises further to nearly 1.2 g/kg during strength training, ageing, or phases where muscle loss risk is higher.

The deficit becomes especially critical during adolescence, pregnancy, lactation, and post-menopause. In teenage years, adequate protein supports bone density and healthy haemoglobin levels. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, it is vital for fetal growth, maternal health, and milk production. Later in life, low protein intake can accelerate muscle loss and weaken metabolic health.

Another challenge lies in timing. Breakfasts and snack occasions in Indian diets are typically low in protein, and many meals lack a deliberate protein source altogether deepening the cumulative shortfall by the end of the day.

Why protein matters for long-term health

Low protein intake has far-reaching consequences beyond visible muscle loss. Over time, it can affect bone density, cognitive health, immunity, maternal and child outcomes, and metabolic resilience. Dr Das emphasises that bridging this gap does not require drastic dietary changes.

In some diets, protein quantity may appear sufficient, but quality often remains inadequate. Including at least one good-quality protein source such as paneer, curd, soya, eggs, or lean meat in every meal can significantly improve outcomes. Ideally, protein should contribute about 15–20% of total calories per meal, translating to roughly 15–20 grams.

A balanced combination of whole cereals, legumes and pulses, and milk often in a ratio of 3:1:2.5 can help achieve both the quantity and quality of protein required, while also supporting gut health through fibre and diverse nutrients.

Making protein part of everyday eating

At ITC Foods, protein accessibility is being addressed through familiar, everyday formats rather than specialised products alone. As part of its nutrition strategy, Help India Eat Better, the company focuses on offering foods that align with consumer preferences while delivering tangible health benefits.

Protein has been integrated into daily staples and meal occasions across age groups. Products like Aashirvaad Protein Atta allow consumers to meet nearly 25% of their daily protein requirement with just three rotis. Yoga Bar offers protein-rich breakfast and snack solutions from shakes delivering 26 grams of protein to bars with 10 grams and oats providing up to 20 grams per serving. Everyday additions such as Aashirvaad Soya Chunks and Moringa Atta further make it easier to boost protein intake without altering food habits.

For consumers over 40, including women navigating mid-life changes, ITC’s Right Shift portfolio provides science-led, protein-rich, high-fibre solutions designed to support muscle health, metabolism, and sustained energy throughout the day.

Protein trends shaping 2025 and beyond

With 2025 widely seen as the “Year of Protein,” Dr Das believes the momentum will only accelerate. What was once considered niche has now become a mainstream priority, extending beyond supplements to rotis, dairy, snacks, and breakfast foods.

Consumers are increasingly seeking clean ingredients, easy-to-digest formats, and solutions aligned with weight management and gut health. One of the strongest emerging trends is everyday proteinisation where protein is treated as a natural part of daily staples rather than an add-on. At the same time, high-quality plant-based proteins tailored to Indian palates are gaining traction.

Importantly, protein-rich foods are now expected to deliver more than just macros. Added fibre, essential micronutrients, metabolic support, and transparent labelling are becoming equally important anchored in sound nutritional science.

As India rethinks everyday nutrition, protein and gut health are no longer optional considerations. They are becoming foundational to how the country eats one roti, snack, and meal at a time.

Republic Day 2026 Updates: India Showcases Military Prowess, Cultural diversity, Economic growth

Uttar Pradesh’s tableau in the Republic Day parade in New Delhi features the state’s rich cultural heritage alongside its development journey, with a special focus on the glorious legacy of Bundelkhand.

The tableau has ancient Kalinjar Fort while simultaneously reflecting the infrastructure and industrial growth, such as expressways and Brahmos missile.

At the forefront of the tableau stands the iconic “Ekamukh Lingam”, one of the most renowned rock cut sculptures of Kalinjar Fort, representing Bundelkhand’s ancient spiritual traditions, cultural consciousness and deep-rooted religious faith.

The central section showcases the region’s handicraft traditions, comprising pottery, bead craft and local trade practices.

The rear portion of the tableau features intricately carved pillars and majestic gateways of the fort, with tourists depicted exploring its historic corridors.

Neelkanth Mahadev Temple has also been depicted, further reinforcing “Kalinjar’s spiritual significance and architectural splendou.

Adding vibrancy to the tableau, Bundeli artistes perform traditional folk dances, bringing alive the region’s folk culture, festive spirit and colourful traditions.

New ChatGPT model, GPT-5.2, caught fetching content from Musk’s Grokipedia: Investigation

ChatGPT-generated content’s authenticity has been questioned after a recent investigations have uncovered that the latest version of ChatGPT, GPT-5.2, is fetching content from Grokipedia, an AI-generated online encyclopedia created by Elon Musk in 2023.

This disclosure has stirred a frenzy among researchers and journalists about the reliability of the output sourced by artificial intelligence (AI) platforms. What makes it more concerning is that internet users are heavily relying on these tools for information.

A report by The Guardian mentioned that GPT-5.2 referenced Grokipedia multiple times in its responses to various questions, including sensitive topics such as Iran’s political landscape and historical issues related to Holocaust denial.

In over a dozen test inquiries, Grokipedia was quoted nine times, suggesting that it’s integrated into the model’s information pool.

It’s notable that Grokipedia competes with Wikipedia but relies entirely on AI for content creation and updates, which brings to light the scaring biases and inaccuracies planted in the AI-generated content.

The OpenAI-owned chatbot has previously been flagged by critics for promoting right-wing perspectives on controversial social and political issues.

It must not be missed that ChatGPT made no reference to Grokipedia when asked about topics that contain disputed claims, such as the January 6 Capitol attack or HIV/AIDS misinformation.

Grokipedia surfaced in ChatGPT responses mostly in obscure questions, making stronger assertions beyond established facts, such as links between an Iranian telecom firm and the supreme leader’s office.

This issue is not limited to ChatGPT; other large language models (LLMs), including Anthropic’s Claude, have also cited Grokipedia on various topics.

OpenAI explained that its models take help from various sources and apply safety filters to mitigate the spread of harmful information.

Outlining the need for rigorous source evaluation in AI development, experts warned that reliance on unreliable sources could mislead users and reinforce misinformation.

Kylie Jenner faces backlash for promoting cutting jelly’ said to suppress appetite

Kylie Jenner is being heavily scrutinized for promoting a viral Korean jelly, which has reportedly decreased people’s food cravings and appetites.

The 28-year-old reality star shared a TikTok video earlier this month of herself trying Foodology’s Cutting Jelly, a product originally made in Korea that is “designed to support weight and body management as part of a balanced lifestyle,” according to the company’s website.

However, the product has expanded to the U.S., with the Korean brand selling the jelly through online retailers, including on TikTok. In the reviews of the jelly, sold by Foodology US, some people claimed that while it is beneficial for digestive issues, it’s also “curbed [their] appetites” and helped them lose weight.

In her TikTok video, Jenner held up four packets of the pomegranate-flavored jelly with chia seeds and called them her “new favorite snack.”

“This is not a typical jelly. It’s a cutting jelly for digestion, debloating,” she said.

Kylie Jenner says Korean Cutting Kelly helps with digestion and debloating – but she faces backlash for promoting the brand (@kyliejenner / TikTok)

“My goal is to snack less for the new year,” she continued, before eating some of the jelly in the packet. The clip ended with her showing off the red latex dress that she was wearing to a fitting, before she ate the jelly in a car.

Multiple people on Reddit have criticized Jenner for promoting these jelly supplements, with claims that the jelly has similar effects to taking a laxative.

“It’s so irresponsible for celebrities to advertise supplements and laxatives. There are so many impressionable kids/teens who will take this as gospel, and it may actually cause them serious harm, one wrote

“How embarrassing for her,” another added, while a third quipped: “She’s still snacking, she’s just eating jellified laxatives. Jesus Christ.”

A fourth took the opportunity to remind people not to be pressured by the health and beauty trends online, including the idea of taking supplements to look a certain way.

“Guys, it is normal for your belly to be bigger after a meal. It is normal to feel full. It is normal for blood sugar to rise after eating,” they wrote. “It is normal to have a belly, that’s where your extra reproductive organs reside. THIS IS NORMAL, EXPECTED BODY RESPONSES.”

The Independent has contacted a representative for Jenner for comment.

On TikTok, multiple people have praised the effects of the viral jelly, which contains a lot of fiber and extract from Garcinia Cambogia, a tropical fruit that’s advertised as being able to help with weight loss, according to Health Direct.

In one video posted by someone who goes by the name @tiffytummy, she claimed that the Foodology Cutting Jelly “blocks carbs from turning into fat.” She also claimed that she has no more “food noise” — the feeling of continuous hunger, according to the Cleveland Clinic — or bloating.

However, Harvard professor of gastroenterology Chethan Ramprasad told GQ previously that the cutting jelly doesn’t necessarily stop carbs from turning into fat.

“The short answer is, no, you cannot effectively block carbs,” she said. The idea behind carb-blockers is that certain plant extracts (like white kidney bean or garcinia cambogia) supposedly inhibit enzymes that break down carbohydrates, so you absorb fewer calories. In practice, the effect in humans is very minimal to non-existent.”

“So, no—there isn’t a supplement that actually prevents you from digesting carbs in a significant, reliable, or safe way. The ‘carb-blocking’ claim is more of a marketing hook than a physiologic reality.”
