Cristin Milioti shares disappointing update about ‘Penguin’ season 2

Cristin Milioti has shared a disappointing update about season 2 of the Emmy-nominated show, The Penguin.

The first season of the show, which was released in September 2024, turned out to be a great success and since then fans have been waiting for the new installment.

But in a recent interview, Milioti dismissed the possibility of a second season.

“Yeah, there’s no official word on anything,” she said. “I would love nothing more, truly.”

The 40-year-old actress shared a disappointing update about the show while promoting her new horror-comedy film, Buddy, alongside co-star Topher Grace at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival.

Following Milioti’s response, Cristin said, “Whoever’s in charge of making that decision, what are you doing?”

“This is the greatest thing I have ever seen on [television],” he added. “We’ve got to have a season two.”

For those unversed, Milioti played Sofia Falcone in the first season of The Penguin.

Previously, in an interview with INDIE WIRE, the actress spoke about the future of her character.

“It just seemed like there are infinite possibilities of where she could go,” stated Milioti.

“Obviously, I would want to see her get out of Arkham. That’s like number one. I don’t want her in there. So I want to see her get out there, and then exact revenge,” added the How I Met Your Mother actress.

PVR INOX sells 4700BC to Marico for Rs 226.8 crore; sharpens focus on core cinema business - The Times of India

Multiplex operator PVR INOX on Monday said it has sold its premium snacking business operating under the 4700BC brand to FMCG major Marico in an all-cash transaction valued at Rs 226.8 crore, as part of a strategic move to monetise non-core assets and strengthen its balance sheet. The PVR INOX board approved the divestment of its entire 93.27% stake in Zea Maize Pvt Ltd (ZMPL), which owns the 4700BC brand, according to a regulatory filing by the Bijli family-promoted company, reported PTI. Upon completion of the transaction, ZMPL will cease to be a subsidiary of PVR INOX.“PVR INOX has monetised its entire investment in its subsidiary ZMPL to Marico Ltd in an all-cash transaction for a total consideration of Rs 226.8 crore,” the companies said in a joint statement.PVR INOX said it has entered into definitive agreements for the transfer of the equity shares to Marico. “A duly authorised committee of the Board of Directors of the Company… approved the sale of its entire shareholding in its subsidiary, Zea Maize which owns the brand ‘4700BC’ (consisting of 93.27 per cent of the paid-up equity share capital) to Marico Ltd,” it said.4700BC is among India’s leading premium gourmet snacking brands, best known for its popcorn offerings, and has expanded into categories such as popped chips, makhana, crunchy corn and nachos. The multiplex operator said the divestment aligns with its ongoing strategic review. “Overall, the transaction is expected to be accretive to PVR INOX’s profit, free cash flow, and return ratios,” the company said, adding that the sale will have “no material impact on PVR INOX’s in-cinema food and beverage revenues or its growth trajectory”.Commenting on the transaction, PVR INOX Managing Director Ajay Bijli said the sale marked the natural culmination of the company’s role in building the brand.“We recognised the potential in 4700BC at a very early stage and supported the brand through its formative years. From a niche gourmet popcorn offering, it has grown into a nationally recognised premium snacking brand. As it looks to scale further and broaden its ambition, the brand is well positioned under the stewardship of a scaled FMCG leader like Marico,” he said.Marico Managing Director and CEO Saugata Gupta said the acquisition fits well with the company’s growth strategy in food. “The investment in 4700BC aligns well with Marico’s ambition to participate in fast-growing food categories through distinctive, future-ready brands. We see immense potential in 4700BC as a premium snacking brand with deep consumer connect and proven execution,” he said. The Mariwala family-promoted company, which owns brands such as Saffola, Parachute and Livon, said it will leverage its existing scale in foods to expand 4700BC’s presence across channels. Marico has said it expects its food and premium personal care businesses to contribute 25% of domestic revenue in the next three years. The company crossed Rs 10,000 crore in revenue in FY25 and is targeting Rs 20,000 crore by 2030.Formed after the merger of PVR and INOX in February 2023, PVR INOX operates 1,783 screens across 357 properties in 112 cities in India and Sri Lanka.

Galaxy S26 confirmed to launch next month, pre-orders to begin from February 26

South Korean tech giant Samsung is all set to debut its Galaxy S26 series at a Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for February 25, 2026.

The new Galaxy S lineup includes three variants, namely the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Galaxy S26+, and the standard Galaxy S26, with the Ultra model being in the lead with the highest-end specifications, thereby falling in the premium smartphone segment.

Earlier leaks suggested the inclusion of a Galaxy S26 Pro and S26 Edge, but weak demand for the S25 Edge and competitive pricing from Apple’s iPhone 17 appear to have caused Samsung to retain its traditional S-series trio.

A few other previous rumours from a Finnish retailer disclosed significant upgrades in the Galaxy S26 series, including:

  • Base storage upgrade: Entry-level Galaxy S26 and S26+ starting at 256 GB storage, with an option for 512 GB.
  • Colour options: Expected in black, white, sky blue, and cobalt violet, with additional colours available online.
  • Galaxy S26 Ultra features: High-refresh-rate AMOLED display, advanced multi-lens camera system, flagship Snapdragon or Exynos chipset, long-lasting battery, and premium design.

Preorders for the Galaxy S26 models could begin on February 26, 2026, immediately following the launch.

The Galaxy maker typically complements pre-orders with incentives such as boosted trade-in values, exclusive colour options, and free subscriptions to services like Google AI Pro.

Last but not least, the Galaxy S26 series fortifies Samsung’s position in multiple segments, attracting both premium buyers and those looking for high-storage mid-range options.

Lucy Liu played O-Ren Ishii in ‘Kill Bill’

Lucy Liu’s role as Princess Pei Pei in Shanghai Noon didn’t just showcase her talent, but also directly inspired Quentin Tarantino to write one of her most iconic roles.

Tarantino’s recognition of her performance transformed Liu from a princess in a western comedy to a sword-wielding assassin in a cult classic.

In a recent Life in Looks video for Vogue, Liu shared that Tarantino was so moved by her performance in the 2000 action-comedy that he created the character of O-Ren Ishii in Kill Bill specifically for her.

“He said, ‘Your role as Princess Pei Pei, like, it really moved me and it really connected me with you,’” Liu recalled.

Though Liu’s Shanghai Noon character was more of a damsel in distress, the role gave her the visibility and emotional depth that caught Tarantino’s eye.

He saw in her the potential to embody O-Ren Ishii, the deadly assassin who became one of the most memorable figures in the Kill Bill saga.

Liu also revealed that she had a hand in shaping O-Ren’s striking wardrobe.

Drawing inspiration from Pulp Fiction, she suggested a black kimono layered over white for her first scene.

“That was representing, basically, Pulp Fiction,” she explained how her costume was actually a tribute to the filmmaker.

Lightning strike injures almost 100 at rally for Brazil's former president

Lightning struck near a rally of supporters of Brazil’s former far-right president Jair Bolsonaro in Brasilia on Sunday, injuring 89 people, according to the fire department.

Thousands gathered in the rain in the Brazilian capital to support Bolsonaro, who was sentenced to 27 years in prison last year for leading a failed coup d’etat following his narrow re-election loss.

Footage shared online shows crowds with colourful umbrellas and plastic ponchos stunned by a sudden flash of light and rumbling sound.

The fire department told AFP they treated 89 people at the scene, including 47 who were taken to hospital.

Eleven people “required major medical care,” the fire department added.

The gathering was organised by Brazilian lawmaker Nikolas Ferreira to demand “amnesty” for Bolsonaro.

The former head of state is incarcerated in the Papuda penitentiary complex in Brasilia.

He suffers from serious health complications related to a 2018 stabbing on the campaign trail and spent a week in hospital in December following surgery for a groin hernia and treatment for recurring hiccups.

Earlier this month he underwent tests after a fall in prison, but no serious injuries were found.

Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo brutally slammed by Oscars voter

Oscar voters are revealing why Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo didn’t get noms for their roles in Wicked: For Good.

Grande, 32, played Glinda the Good in the sequel to 2024’s Wicked while Erivo, 39, starred as Elphaba. The pair’s Oscars 2026 snub generated quite the murmur.

Now, voters say they “creeped out” a lot of people with their overly affectionate displays during the promotional tour.

“The movie wasn’t that great. The two have amazing on-screen chemistry but spent most of the movie apart,” the voter told News Nation.

“I was also just completely turned off by their promotional performances. They creeped a lot of people out and in their rush to feel authentic, came off as cosplaying,” the voter remarked.

Another voter gave an even more scathing commentary on the duo, saying, “The movie wasn’t that good and [Erivo and Grande] sucked the air out of any red carpet they were on — and no one wanted to go through that again.”

“Think of it this way: We were protecting Ariana from her anxiety — and Cynthia from having to intervene. Again,” they added.

The promotional tour moments that gave netizens the ick included an Elle magazine interview where they described each other’s auras.

Grande said Erivo’s was “yellow,” like “sunshine,” adding, “I think there’s also purple.”

The Outsider star told the Side to Side hitmaker, “I see, like a ciel blue, you know? Like aqua. And like, sunset-orange.”

In another such cringeworthy moment, Grande held Erivo’s index finger as she got emotional in an interview.

No Pak vs Ind match at T20 World Cup? PCB mulls options after ICC kicks out Bangaldesh

  • PCB considering various options to register protest: sources.
  • Only two points to be deducted if Pakistan not play India match.
  • Board to keep options open even if it participates in world cup.

KARACHI: Amid the ongoing row between the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) over the issue of travelling to India, Pakistan may boycott its T20 World Cup 2026 match against arch-rivals India on February 15, sources said on Monday.

Sources say that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is considering various options to register its protest, with the option to not participate in the match against India set to be played in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

They added that only two points can be deducted if Pakistan refuse to play the scheduled fixture, whereas on the other hand, it would cause significant financial loss to the cricketing body.

The board, nevertheless, will keep options open even if it participates in the World Cup, the sources added.

The PCB’s prospective move is to be taken against the backdrop of ICC’s decision to replace Bangladesh with Scotland after Dhaka refused to send its team to India, citing security concerns.

The BCB had requested the ICC to move their matches from India to Sri Lanka, who are co-hosts of the tournament, which commences on February 7.

However, the cricketing body turned down the BCB’s request, citing the lack of any “credible or verifiable security threat” to the Bangladesh national team in India”.

As part of this process, the ICC said it reviewed the concerns cited by the BCB, commissioned and considered independent security assessments from internal and external experts, and shared detailed security and operational plans covering federal and state arrangements, as well as enhanced and escalating security protocols for the event.

The PCB, however, has put its weight behind Bangladesh in light of the ICC’s “double standards”, saying that it would follow the government’s directives regarding participation in the tournament.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, on Sunday, took the national side’s players into confidence over the board’s principled stance, and said that Pakistan’s support for Bangladesh was guided by cricket’s golden principles, and cautioned against political interference in the sport.

Highly placed sources have said that the PCB is also weighing a possible withdrawal from the T20 World Cup 2026.

A final decision is expected following a crucial meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PCB Chairman Naqvi in Islamabad on Monday (today).

Bangladesh-India row

Relations between Bangladesh and India have been strained relations in recent times with political tensions between the two neighbouring countries after Bangladesh’s former prime minister Sheikh Hasina fled to New Delhi following protests against her.

Political tensions have since then spilt into cricket.

Bangladesh bowler Mustafizur Rahman was dropped from this year’s Indian Premier League despite signing with its Kolkata franchise. Bangladesh responded by banning IPL broadcasts in the country and demanding to play World Cup matches in Sri Lanka.

The standoff mirrors previous tensions in South Asian cricket.

For the Champions Trophy last year, the Indian cricket board (BCCI) stuck to its policy of not touring Pakistan because of the strained political ties between the bitter neighbours, who play each other only in ICC events.

Like for the 2023 Asia Cup in Pakistan, a “hybrid model” was agreed on under which India were allowed to play their Champions Trophy matches in Dubai to salvage the tournament.

Under the agreement running until 2027, Pakistan will play in a neutral venue for any ICC event, including the T20 World Cup, where they are scheduled to play their matches in Sri Lanka.
