President Trump signs executive order bringing IndyCar race to DC for America250

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

President Donald Trump will sign an executive order Friday in an effort to have an IndyCar race on the streets of Washington, D.C., for America250, Fox News Digital confirmed.

NBC News initially reported the news, saying that the race, which would be titled the “America250 Grand Prix,” would take place the weekend of Aug. 21-23. IndyCar normally runs on Sundays, and there is no event currently scheduled for that weekend.

According to NBC News, an order that hasn’t been made public yet will tell the Interior and Transportation departments to “coordinate with the Mayor” and plan a race route near the National Mall “that showcases the majesty of Washington, D.C., and its iconic national monuments,” based on a fact sheet.

NBC News also reports, citing the White House, that the departments are expected to “expeditiously” secure the needed permits and approvals, and that Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy will have the authority “to use available funds to facilitate the race.”

“President Trump has bestowed an incredible distinction upon our sport and we’re grateful for his trust and support as INDYCAR prepares to honor our country with a tremendous racing spectacle,” IndyCar owner Roger Penske said in a statement to the outlet. “This will be a truly memorable event that celebrates our country’s independence and the legacy of patriotism, innovation and excellence that powers motorsports across America.”

The Department of Transportation was making a push to hold a race on the National Mall as part of the celebration, FOX Business confirmed last week.

In conjunction with the push, Trump posted to Truth Social an AI-generated video promoting the race. The video featured fans around the National Mall and drivers speeding through a Washington, D.C., raceway.

“The Grand Prix is an unprecedented opportunity to celebrate our nation’s proud racing pedigree, showcase the beauty of the National Mall and generate millions in critical tourism revenue for the capital,” a Department of Transportation spokesperson said.

“The Trump Administration is determined to make D.C. great again, and this race is another example of that commitment. We’ll keep working with our partners in Congress to outline the positive impacts it will have on the District and correct the record.”

The event does have a roadblock ahead of it, though, as advertising on Capitol grounds is forbidden. Racing vehicles are often littered with ads.

YouTube cracks down, deletes 4.7b views of AI spam videos | The Express Tribune

YouTube has removed 16 high-profile AI-generated “spam” channels that collectively amassed more than 4.7 billion lifetime views and over 35 million subscribers, according to an updated report from online video platform Kapwing.

The deletions mark one of the largest visible crackdowns to date on low-quality, mass-produced AI content on the platform.

Kapwing first identified the channels in a November 2025 report that ranked the 100 most-subscribed AI-driven “slop” accounts, many of which relied on automated voiceovers, recycled visuals, and repetitive themes. Since then, 16 of those channels have either been fully removed or had all their videos wiped. Together, the deleted accounts were estimated to generate around $10 million in annual revenue.

Among the channels affected were several popular automated content hubs spanning animated knockoffs, religious storytelling loops, and viral-style compilations. Some accounts remain on YouTube but no longer host any public videos, suggesting targeted content purges rather than simple demonetization.

According to Kapwing, YouTube appears to be relying on its existing spam and low-quality content detection systems rather than announcing a brand-new enforcement tool. Earlier this month, YouTube CEO Neal Mohan said the company was expanding efforts to reduce repetitive, low-effort AI uploads that resemble spam or clickbait.

Despite the removals, YouTube continues to invest heavily in creator-facing AI tools. Upcoming features include AI-assisted video editing, generative Shorts content, and automatic song creation from spoken dialogue.

The move highlights YouTube’s balancing act: curbing exploitative AI spam while still promoting legitimate AI-powered creativity. For creators, it signals stricter enforcement against automated bulk uploads, while viewers may see fewer repetitive, low-quality AI videos in recommendations.

YouTube was founded by Chad Hurley, Jawed Karim, and Steve Chen. The three were early employees at PayPal and had become wealthy after eBay’s acquisition of the company. Hurley had studied design at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and Chen and Karim studied computer science together at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

According to a story that has often been repeated in the media, Hurley and Chen developed the idea for YouTube during the early months of 2005, after they had experienced difficulty sharing videos that had been shot at a dinner party at Chen’s apartment in San Francisco. Karim did not attend the party and denied that it had occurred, but Chen remarked that the idea that YouTube was founded after a dinner party “was probably very strengthened by marketing ideas around creating a story that was very digestible”.

Karim said the inspiration for YouTube came from the Super Bowl XXXVIII halftime show controversy when Janet Jackson’s breast was briefly exposed by Justin Timberlake during the halftime show. Karim could not easily find video clips of the incident and the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami online, which led to the idea of a video-sharing site. Hurley and Chen said that the original idea for YouTube was a video version of an online dating service and had been influenced by the website Hot or Not. They created posts on Craigslist asking attractive women to upload videos of themselves to YouTube in exchange for a $100 reward. Difficulty in finding enough dating videos led to a change of plans, with the site’s founders deciding to accept uploads of any video.

YouTube began as a venture capital–funded technology startup. Between November 2005 and April 2006, the company raised money from various investors, with Sequoia Capital and Artis Capital Management being the largest two. YouTube’s early headquarters were situated above a pizzeria and a Japanese restaurant in San Mateo, California. In February 2005, the company registered www.youtube.com. The first video was uploaded on April 23, 2005. Titled “Me at the zoo”, it shows co-founder Jawed Karim at the San Diego Zoo and can still be viewed on the site. The same day, the company launched a public beta and by November, a Nike ad featuring Ronaldinho became the first video to reach one million total views.

OSLO, NORWAY:

In the biggest scandal to rock Norway’s monarchy, the son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit goes on trial Tuesday accused of raping four women, as well as drug and assault offences.

Marius Borg Hoiby, Mette-Marit’s 29-year-old son from a relationship before she married Crown Prince Haakon, has been charged with a total of 38 counts, some of which date back to 2018.

He faces up to 16 years in prison if the Oslo district court finds him guilty. The trial, scheduled to last until March 19, is expected to attract intense media coverage.

“When it comes to the Norwegian royal family, it is without a doubt the biggest scandal” in its 120-year history, Trond Noren Isaksen, a historian and expert on Norway’s monarchy, told AFP.

“There have been controversies surrounding the choice of spouses, about renovations of the palace and these kinds of things, but never any real scandals involving criminal offences, let alone so many,” he said.

The most serious charges against Hoiby are the four rapes and the physical and psychological abuse of several ex-girlfriends.

A tall strapping blond who cultivates a “bad boy” look with slicked back hair, earrings, rings and tattoos, Hoiby was arrested on August 4, 2024 suspected of assaulting his girlfriend the night before.

Several days later, he admitted he had acted “under the influence of alcohol and cocaine after an argument”, having suffered from “mental troubles” and struggling “for a long time with substance abuse”.

The investigation into that incident uncovered a slew of other suspected offences, including the rapes of four women while they were sleeping or passed out drunk, some of which he filmed.

WASHINGTON:

US President Donald Trump, Melania Trump and top administration officials attended the premier Thursday night of the first lady’s new movie promising a behind-the-scenes glimpse at her husband’s return to power.

The documentary, titled “Melania” and funded by an extraordinary multimillion-dollar deal with Amazon, was given a red-carpet screening at the newly renamed Trump-Kennedy center in Washington.

“Glamorous, very glamorous,” the president said of the film as he arrived at the event holding hands with his wife.

“We need some glamour.”

Melania Trump’s movie aims to document the 20 days leading up to Trump’s second inauguration through the eyes of the Slovenian-born 55-year-old first lady.

But amid reports of soft ticket sales for the film, the huge fee paid by Amazon has raised questions about whether the US tech giant is merely trying to curry favor with the president.

Top administration officials like Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, diplomatic envoy Steve Witkoff and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., as well as House Speaker Mike Johnson, attended the screening.

Melania Trump has often been a mysterious figure since her husband’s return to the White House in January 2025, preferring to spend her time with their son Barron in New York and Florida.

But she said the film, which goes on global release Friday and will later be shown exclusively on Amazon Prime, would give people a look behind the enigma.

“They will see how I work, who I am, how I communicate with people, and they will know me a little bit more,” she told Fox and Friends on Wednesday.

A teaser for the documentary released in December showed the former model looking to the camera just before her husband’s second swearing-in at the US Capitol and saying: “Here we go again.”

The Trumps held a private screening at the White House on Saturday — hours after immigration agents shot dead protester Alex Pretti in Minneapolis in an incident that has sparked national outrage.

In one of a series of promotional interviews this week for the film, Melania Trump called for “unity” after the Minneapolis killing.

Must watch

While it promises an “unprecedented” glimpse into her life, “Melania” has also given an insight into the way US business titans have lined up to pay tribute to the Trump administration in the past year.

Amazon tycoon Jeff Bezos has grown notably closer to Trump, securing a prime seat at the inauguration and telling the Washington Post newspaper he owns to favor pro-business editorials.

US media say that of Amazon’s $40 million licensing deal for the film, Melania, who served as executive producer, will receive 70 percent. The next highest bid, from Disney, was reportedly only $14 million.

On top of that Amazon has reportedly paid for a stunning $35 million marketing campaign including television commercials, billboards and a simulcast in 25 theaters at the same time as Thursday’s premiere.

“How can it not be equated with currying favor or an outright bribe?” Ted Hope, a former Amazon film executive, was quoted as saying by the New York Times.

Billionaire Donald Trump has faced repeated criticism that his family members are profiting from deals made off the back of his presidency. The White House says Trump is already rich and makes no money from his position.

The president said on his Truth Social account that “Melania” was “A MUST WATCH.”

Catherine O’Hara, the acclaimed Canadian actress known for her work in Schitt’s Creek, Home Alone, and Best in Show, has died at the age of 71.

TMZ confirmed her death on Friday, with sources close to the actress reporting that the cause of death is currently unclear.

O’Hara’s career spanned decades and included some of Hollywood’s most beloved comedy roles. She famously portrayed Macaulay Culkin’s mother in the first two Home Alone films and starred as the iconic Moira Rose in 80 episodes of the Emmy-winning television series Schitt’s Creek. Her film credits also include the cult classic Beetlejuice, as well as the mockumentaries Best in Show (2000) and A Mighty Wind (2003).

In addition to her acting accomplishments, O’Hara earned recognition for her writing contributions. She won her first Emmy Award in 1982 for writing on the sketch comedy series SCTV Network 90 and later won an Emmy in 2020 for her work on Schitt’s Creek. Her most recent performance was alongside Seth Rogen in the Apple TV+ series The Studio, which earned her another Emmy nomination.

Born in Toronto as the sixth of seven children, O’Hara met production designer Bo Welch on the set of 1988’s Beetlejuice. The couple married in 1992 and had two sons, Matthew and Luke.

O’Hara remained a beloved figure in both television and film, celebrated for her comedic timing and ability to bring nuanced characters to life. She was last photographed in February 2024 at LAX, reflecting on which of her roles she most wanted to be remembered for.

Catherine O’Hara was 71. Her death marks the loss of a legendary actress whose work continues to influence comedy and television.

O’Hara started her comedy career in 1974 as a cast member of The Second City in her hometown, Toronto. She was an understudy for Gilda Radner until Radner left for Saturday Night Live. Two years later, this theatre troupe created the sketch comedy show SCTV, for which O’Hara became a regular performer.

In the late 1970s, she provided voice-overs for a number of cartoons, work which would continue throughout her career. During a short time in the early 1980s when SCTV was in between network deals, she was hired to replace Ann Risley when Saturday Night Live was being retooled in 1981. However, she quit the show without appearing on air, choosing to go back to SCTV when the show signed on with NBC. She was long rumored to have left SNL due to conflicts with volatile writer Michael O’Donoghue, but O’Hara denied these claims and said she left the show due to her dislike for living in New York City.

Indian-origin US cyber agency chief under scrutiny for leaking sensitive data to ChatGPT – SUCH TV

Indian-origin US cyber agency chief under scrutiny for leaking sensitive data to ChatGPT - SUCH TV

The Indian-origin acting head of the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Madhu Gottumukkala, is under investigation after reportedly uploading sensitive government contracting documents to the public version of ChatGPT.

The material uploaded last summer was not classified but was marked “For Official Use Only”, a designation used for sensitive information that is not meant for public release, Gulf News reported.

The leaks triggered internal cybersecurity alerts and a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) review.

As per a detailed report by Politico, four DHS officials familiar with the matter said that the uploads activated multiple automated security warnings designed to prevent the unauthorised disclosure of government data from federal networks.

Gottumukkala, who has served as acting CISA director since May 2025, had sought and received a temporary exception from the agency’s Office of the Chief Information Officer to use ChatGPT as part of efforts to explore artificial intelligence tools.

At the time, most DHS employees were blocked from accessing the public platform because of security concerns.

Cybersecurity sensors flagged several uploads in August 2025, including multiple alerts in the first week of the month. Senior DHS officials subsequently initiated an internal review to assess whether the disclosures had caused any harm to government security. The findings of that review have not been made public.

Politico quoted CISA Director of Public Affairs Marci McCarthy as saying that Gottumukkala “was granted permission to use ChatGPT with DHS controls in place”.

The official added that the use was “short-term and limited”. She said the agency continues to block access to ChatGPT by default unless an exception is approved. The statement also said Gottumukkala last used ChatGPT in mid-July 2025 under an authorised temporary exception.

Information entered into the public version of ChatGPT is shared with OpenAI and may be used to help generate responses for other users. OpenAI has said the tool has more than 700 million total active users. By contrast, internal AI systems approved for DHS staff, such as the department’s proprietary chatbot DHSChat, are designed to prevent data from leaving federal networks.

Gottumukkala discussed the uploads with senior DHS officials after the activity was detected, and then-acting general counsel Joseph Mazzara and DHS chief information officer Antoine McCord were involved in reviewing potential risks.

Gottumukkala also met with CISA’s chief information officer Robert Costello and chief counsel Spencer Fisher regarding proper handling of “For Official Use Only” material.

The incident has added to scrutiny of Gottumukkala’s leadership.

It may be noted that at least six career staff were placed on leave after Gottumukkala failed a counterintelligence polygraph exam that he had pressed to take, though DHS described the test as “unsanctioned”.

During recent congressional testimony, Gottumukkala said he did not “accept the premise” that he had failed the exam.

Gottumukkala is currently the senior-most political official at CISA, the federal agency tasked with defending US government networks and critical infrastructure from sophisticated cyber threats, including those linked to Russia and China.

Claudia Oshry shares key reason behind her exit from The Masked Singer season 14

Claudia Oshry recently opened up about the impact of motherhood on her career after she voluntarily exited The Masked Singer season 14.

While conversing with PEOPLE magazine, the 31-year-old comedian and singer admitted that she has taken a sigh of relief after quitting the series.

Oshry welcomed a son named Reuben with husband, Ben Soffer, on May 21, 2025.

Voicing her thoughts about her decision, the mother of one said, “I feel amazing. I am not a good secret keeper, especially when the secret is me being on TV.”

The 100 Percent crooner decided to unmask at the end of January 28 episode of The Masked Singer.

Oshry left behind her fellow competitors, host Nick Cannon, and panelists Rita Ora, Ken Jeong, and Robin Thicke.

While leaving the reality singing competition television series, she said, “I’ve learned so much about myself, but my time is up.”

The hitmaker of An ode to Flight Attendants had a discussion with her family before making a decision, as she now wants to spend her precious postpartum time with her baby.

She explained, “My baby was 4 months old at the time, and you don’t get that time back, especially with your first, so I’m really glad. I have not regretted the decision once since I made it.”

“Everyone was really supportive, which I’m very grateful for,” Oshry confessed, alluding to the cast and crew of The Masked Singer.

Girls are happier than boys at school, new research shows. This is why

Norwegian researchers just confirmed a long-held suspicion for many: girls are happier than boys at school.

Understanding why may all boil down to biology, they say.

Girls get more of the happy hormone dopamine through social relationships, including with their friends and classmates.

Alternatively, boys get their dopamine through more self-involved behavior, and they need more activity because of their higher levels of the male sex hormone testosterone.

“Long school days, sitting still, does not suit boys,” Hermundur Sigmundsson, a professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, explained in a statement.

Girls are happier than boys at school. That is likely because of biology, Norwegian researchers say

Youthful exuberance

Sigmundsson and his team studied more than 1,600 Norwegian children who were between first and fourth grade.

The researchers asked the children questions about their friends, well-being and safety at school, as well as what subjects they liked.

The girls and the younger students in the six-to-nine-year-old group reported greater well-being and a stronger preference for their class than boys and older students.

Happiness at school was linked to having more friends.

“We find a significant correlation between well-being and all the questions we asked. Enjoying school and feeling safe at school are strongly connected,” said Sigmundsson.

Academic performance: real and perceived

The researchers also asked the students about their performance in school across reading, science, math, and physical education.

Their answers revealed that girls scored higher than boys in reading and science. They also believe they did better in both.

Boys believe they are the best at math, and the researchers found no difference in how much boys and girls like the subject.

Lastly, boys liked physical education the most, but there was no difference in how well girls and boys thought they performed.

One potentially surprising finding was a weak correlation between feeling good about reading and physical education.

It’s unclear how much Norway’s specific educational system might have played a role in these findings.

New York City girls outperform their male classmates academically - but recent data shows they’re unhappier at school

New York City girls outperform their male classmates academically – but recent data shows they’re unhappier at school (Getty Images)

An international takeaway

Previous data and research on schoolchildren in the U.S. showed different results.

Data released in 2023 from New York City found that girls outperform boys academically but are unhappier at school.

Surveys of American teenagers since the 1980s show that girls have higher grades and greater leadership in school, whereas boys are more likely to be disruptive and fewer of them say they plan to go to college, according to the Pew Research Center.

“In the last 50 years, as girls have made gains, what we’ve seen is boys haven’t made the same gains,” Matt Englar-Carlson, who studies boys and men at Cal State Fullerton, told The New York Times last year.

Sigmundsson says his advice to increase the well-being of all students is to add passion projects and more physical activity to help keep children engaged.

In the future, the researchers aim to look at how those additional efforts will affect schoolchildren.

Who is Jane Lauder? Wife of Fed chair pick Kevin Warsh is billionaire Ronald Lauder’s daughter – The Times of India

Kevin Warsh is President Donald Trump’s pick to be the next chairman of the US Federal Reserve. He is expected to succeed the current Fed chief Jerome Powell in May this year. Powell has been at the receiving end of Trump’s wrath for several months, with repeated verbal attacks for not lowering interest rates as fast or by as much as the US President wants. The position of Federal Reserve chair ranks among the most influential jobs in the US government, carrying substantial sway over the direction of the world’s largest economy.

Trump Taps ‘MAGA Loyalist’ Kevin Warsh As Fed Chair To Replace ‘Crooked’ Jerome Powell | Details

Kevin Warsh’s name had been doing the rounds, and Trump’s announcement therefore came as no surprise. In a post on social media platform Truth Social, Trump listed Warsh’s qualifications and reasons for picking him:“I am pleased to announce that I am nominating Kevin Warsh to be the CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE SYSTEM. Kevin currently serves as the Shepard Family Distinguished Visiting Fellow in Economics at the Hoover Institution, and Lecturer at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He is a Partner of Stanley Druckenmiller at Duquesne Family Office LLC. Kevin received his A.B. from Stanford University, and J.D. from Harvard Law School. He has conducted extensive research in the field of Economics and Finance. Kevin issued an Independent Report to the Bank of England proposing reforms in the conduct of Monetary Policy in the United Kingdom. Parliament adopted the Report’s recommendations. Kevin Warsh became the youngest Fed Governor, ever, at 35, and served as a Member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System from 2006 until 2011, as the Federal Reserve’s Representative to the Group of Twenty (G-20), and as the Board’s Emissary to the Emerging and Advanced Economies in Asia. In addition, he was Administrative Governor, managing and overseeing the Board’s operations, personnel, and financial performance. Prior to his appointment to the Board, from 2002 until 2006, Kevin served as Special Assistant to the President for Economic Policy, and Executive Secretary of the White House National Economic Council. Previously, Kevin was a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions Department at Morgan Stanley & Co., in New York, serving as Vice President and Executive Director. I have known Kevin for a long period of time, and have no doubt that he will go down as one of the GREAT Fed Chairmen, maybe the best. On top of everything else, he is “central casting,” and he will never let you down. Congratulations Kevin!”But, Warsh is not an obvious pick. He and Trump hold sharply different views on monetary policy. A former Federal Reserve governor, Warsh is widely seen as an inflation hawk and stepped down in 2011 after warning that the central bank was injecting excessive liquidity into the economy. He has long been associated with a “hard money” stance, favouring a strong dollar and a restrained balance sheet.Trump’s preferences have typically leaned the other way. But as noted economist Paul Krugman notes in his blog: “Warsh calls for tight money and opposes any attempt to boost the economy when Democrats hold the White House. Like all Trumpers, he has been all for lower interest rates since November 2024.”According to Fortune, in choosing Warsh, Trump may be wagering that someone who appears ideologically distant could prove more adaptable once in the role. Warsh also brings a background likely to appeal to the president: he began his career as a young Wall Street executive, later emerged as an independent-minded Fed governor, and has since been associated with several high-profile policy institutions. He also has family connections to Trump, adding another layer to the selection.Ironically, Kevin Warsh’s choice is being talked about by experts not just for what it means for the independence of the central bank of the world’s largest economy, but also for the billionaire family he is married into.

Who are Jane Lauder & Ronald Lauder?

Jane Lauder, Kevin Warsh’s wife, is the granddaughter of global cosmetics industry legend Estée Lauder. She is the daughter of billionaire Ronald Lauder, who is the sole heir to the The Estée Lauder Companies. According to Forbes, Jane Lauder has a net worth of $2.7 billion, making her among the world’s wealthy individuals.Jane Lauder has served as executive vice president and chief data officer at her family-run company. She began her career at Estée Lauder in 1996, shortly after completing her studies at Stanford University, and went on to oversee brands such as Clinique and Origins. The company, co-founded by her grandmother in 1946, has grown into a portfolio of more than 20 brands and has annual revenues of $15.6 billion, according to Forbes. Jane Lauder stepped away from her role as executive vice president in 2024, though she has been a member of the company’s board of directors since 2009.Jane Lauder’s father Ronald Lauder is incidentally the same person who has actively been encouraging Donald Trump to acquire Greenland!Ronald Lauder, has shared a long personal history with Donald Trump, dating back to their days as students at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. The relationship forged during their undergraduate years has endured, with Trump and Lauder remaining close associates and trusted advisers over time.Ronald Lauder is widely seen as the person who first encouraged Trump to consider the idea of acquiring Greenland in 2020 and has continued to counsel him on the matter since then. Earlier this month, The Guardian reported that Lauder has built commercial interests in Greenland.According to reports in Arctic-focused media, Lauder is part of an investor consortium known as Greenland Development Partners, which supports projects related to water, energy, and infrastructure in the region. He is also said to have put money into a small bottled water venture called Greenland Water Bank.

Raids on Texas jewellery stores expose large-scale fraud targeting elderly residents - SUCH TV

Simultaneous raids on two jewellery businesses in the DFW Texas cities of Irving and Frisco are being described as the culmination of a year-long investigation by the Collin County Sheriff’s Office into a large-scale financial fraud targeting elderly residents.

Authorities say the operation is linked to hundreds of victims across Collin County and throughout Texas. According to CBS News Texas, the raids were carried out on Thursday, targeting Tilak Jewellers in Irving and Saima Jewellers in Frisco.

CBS News was granted exclusive access to the operation, which involved dozens of law enforcement officers working jointly with federal, state, and local agencies. Investigators with the Collin County Sheriff’s Office said the jewellery stores were suspected of conducting transactions involving gold obtained through fraudulent schemes that preyed on senior citizens.

Officials reported that significant quantities of gold and cash were seized from the locations and taken into evidence. An armoured vehicle was brought in to transport the seized assets, underscoring the unusually high value of the recovered material.

Collin County Sheriff Jim Skinner said in unequivocal terms that anyone attempting to defraud residents in Collin County would be pursued and held accountable. He noted that cases involving elderly victims are often particularly complex, as many victims delay reporting out of fear or embarrassment.

Despite these challenges, law enforcement agencies were able to dismantle what officials described as a coordinated criminal network through a sustained and methodical investigation.

According to official figures, approximately two hundred senior citizens in Collin County, all over the age of sixty-five, were victimised in the scheme. Losses in Collin County alone are estimated to exceed seven million dollars. Statewide, authorities believe the total financial damage from the fraud approaches fifty-five million dollars.

The Sheriff’s Office said more than four hundred thousand dollars has already been returned to victims, with additional restitution expected following the liquidation of seized gold and assets.

As a result of the investigation, five individuals have been arrested. They have been identified as Pranjal Jigneshkumar Patel, Simarjeet Singh Gill, Satish Amrutlal Kumar Patel, Arpit Desai, and Radhakrishna Yerramneni.

Court records in Collin County show that formal criminal charges have been filed against some of the suspects, while other cases are currently under review by a grand jury and being examined under organised crime statutes. The charges include financial exploitation of elderly individuals and large-scale theft.

Available public records and arrest documents indicate that all of the arrested suspects are reported to be of Indian origin. Law enforcement officials, however, have avoided linking nationality to criminal conduct in their official statements.

Immigration-related detainers have appeared in connection with some of the suspects, suggesting federal agencies are also monitoring the case. At this stage, no formal federal indictment has been publicly announced.

Authorities emphasised that the investigation remains ongoing. Officials anticipate further legal developments in the coming days, including the possibility of additional charges and arrests.

The operation is being described as one of the most significant enforcement actions to date in Collin County against financial crimes targeting elderly residents and is being cited by law enforcement as a major investigative success.
