TUCSON, Ariz. – Two news outlets received possible ransom notes relating to Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance, which reportedly contain “sensitive information” that may only have been known to the person who took her.
Nancy Guthrie, 84, was last seen at her Tucson home at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.
While officials didn’t initially elaborate on the circumstances of her disappearance, Sheriff Chris Nanos said on Monday that “we do, in fact, have a crime.” A law enforcement source told Fox News Digital that there were “blood drops” leading from the entryway outside down the house’s pathway towards the driveway.

“Sheriff [Chris] Nanos has stated that he believes that a crime has been committed,” a spokesperson for Pima County Sheriff’s Office told Fox News Digital. “At this point, investigators believe she was taken from the home against her will and that includes possible kidnapping or abduction.”
Following Tuesday’s news conference by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, TMZ and Tucson’s CBS affiliate both reported receiving possible ransom notes related to Nancy Guthrie. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said it was “aware” of the possible ransom note and would be investigating it further.
TMZ reported receiving a possible ransom note that demanded millions of dollars be sent in cryptocurrency to a specific Bitcoin address. The note allegedly contained a deadline. The note TMZ received reportedly contained “an element of ‘or else.’”

While TMZ initially reported the alleged note said Nancy Guthrie was wearing a specific item of clothing, it later clarified that the note says she wasn’t wearing it.
The possible ransom note, which was given to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, also described an item at Nancy Guthrie’s home that was apparently damaged.
KOLD, Tucson’s CBS affiliate, reported they received an email on Monday night that appeared to be a possible ransom note and said it had been forwarded to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.
In an interview on CNN, KOLD Anchor Mary Coleman said the possible ransom note contained information that “only someone who is holding [Nancy Guthrie] for ransom, would know.”
“Very sensitive information and things that people who weren’t there when she was taken captive wouldn’t know,” Coleman said.
Coleman said some of the details in the letter indicated it “might not be a hoax.”

In an Instagram video posted on Wednesday night, Savannah Guthrie and her siblings pleaded with whomever took their mother to make contact.
“Our mom is a kind, faithful, loyal, fiercely loving woman of goodness and light,” Savannah Guthrie said. “She’s funny, spunky. She has grandchildren that adore her and crowd around her and cover her with kisses. She loves fun and adventure. She is a devoted friend. She is full of kindness and knowledge. Talk to her and you’ll see.”

“Our mom is our heart and our home. Her health, her heart is fragile,” she continued. “She is without any medicine. She needs it to survive. She needs not to suffer. We, too, have heard the reports about a ransom letter in the media. As a family, we are doing everything that we can,” she added.
“We are ready to talk. However, we live in a world where voices and images are easily manipulated,” Savannah Guthrie. “We need to know without a doubt that she is alive and that you have her. We want to hear from you, and we are ready to listen. Please reach out to us.”

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has described a family dispute involving his son-in-law Adam Peaty’s relatives as “upsetting”.
The renowned chef told the Daily Mail that he and his wife, Tana, had “welcomed” Peaty’s family when their daughter, Holly, began a relationship with the Olympic swimmer.
The wedding followed reports of a growing family rift, which, according to the Daily Mail, intensified after Peaty’s mother, Caroline, was not invited to the bride’s hen party.
Ramsay told the Daily Mail: “It’s just upsetting. It’s all self-inflicted from their side, because we’ve done nothing – none of what you’ve read: no rudeness, no ignorance – we welcomed them.
“We sent a chauffeur-driven car for them to come to the engagement party and treated them like royalty.”

Asked if he thought their issues could be resolved, the restaurateur said they were “very mindful” the newlyweds want to get on with their lives.
Ramsay added: “I would like to go up to Nottingham with Tana and see them and draw a line in the sand.
“It was Adam and Holly’s wishes for them not to attend and so we had to respect that.”
Ramsay made the comments ahead of a new Netflix documentary, which follows the Michelin-starred chef ahead of the opening of three restaurants, a bar and a cooking academy at London’s 22 Bishopsgate.
The six-part series shows the build-up to the launch of the five businesses in the 63-storey skyscraper, which is costing him £20 million.
He and Tana, his wife of almost 30 years, have six children together, including Holly’s sisters Tilly, 24, and Megan, 27, who were bridesmaids at the wedding, and sons, Jack, 25, Oscar, six, and two-year-old Jesse.
The new docuseries will be available to watch on Netflix from 18 February.

FIRST ON FOX: Progressive rising star Rep. Jasmine Crockett, who is running for the U.S. Senate in Texas, spent over $120,000 on luxury hotels, transportation and private security services over the course of 2025.
Federal Election Commission filings for Crockett, who has referred to President Donald Trump as a “slick con man” only concerned about pleasing the rich, show she sank just over $124,000 from her House and Senate campaign funds on luxury lodging, high-end transportation and private security in 2025.
Crockett spent $32,685.58 on luxury hotels alone. In the final quarter of 2025, as Crockett launched her Senate campaign, which she framed as a fight for the people against a “system of greed,” she spent $11,841.27 on top-name hotels across the country. Hotels Crockett’s campaigns paid for in the last quarter of 2025 included the Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, Hotel Zaza, Kimpton and the five-star Los Angeles West Hollywood Edition.
Meanwhile, she spent a total of $11,738.60 on limousine and luxury car services in 2025. Her Senate and House filings show she spent $5,446.30 on Bay Area Lux Limos, based in California, and Detailed Drivers, a “white-glove” transportation service, in the last three months of the year.

By far the largest expense was private security, despite Crockett repeatedly calling to defund the police. Crockett paid close to $80,000 for security in 2025. A significant portion, $30,079.34, of those security costs came in the final quarter of 2025.
In 2021, while Crockett was serving in the Texas House of Representatives, she said, “The Defund movement seeks to actually bring about healing and finally invest in our communities to make them safer, addressing the root causes of crime and by allowing the professionals to do their respective jobs. Defund is about finally being smart on crime. Defund is about lightening the load for our offices of all things they didn’t sign up for. Defund is about finally being fiscally responsible when it comes to policing in this state.”
Since entering Congress in 2023, Crockett has emerged as one of the foremost Democratic voices, especially when it comes to criticism of the Trump administration and other Republicans.
She took heat in early 2025 for several inflammatory comments, including calling for then-Department of Government Efficiency chief Elon Musk to be “taken down” and mocking Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott, who is wheelchair bound, as “governor hot wheels.” In both instances, Crockett said that her comments were misinterpreted or taken out of context.

During her Senate campaign, she has cast herself as the only candidate who has “gone toe-to-toe with Trump.”
During a recent debate with Democratic primary opponent state Rep. James Talarico, Crockett called for impeachment proceedings against Trump, saying, “I think that there is more than enough to impeach.”
She also recently likened Trump’s immigration enforcement campaign to Nazi Germany and accused the Supreme Court of sanctioning “modern-day slave patrols.”
Crockett joined more than 70 House Democrats in co-sponsoring articles of impeachment against Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem for “systemic abuses of power, violations of civil and constitutional rights, and deliberate obstruction of congressional oversight.”

“Secretary Noem has violated her oath and weaponized ICE against American communities,” said Crockett. “What we are witnessing is not public safety — it is state-sanctioned violence. It is unconstitutional, it is dangerous, and it demands accountability.”
The Texas U.S. Senate primary election is on March 3. Whichever candidate emerges victorious will face off against either incumbent Sen. John Cornyn, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton or Rep. Wesley Hunt in the November general election.

Christine Taylor opens up about her wardrobe choice in ‘Hey Dude’
Christine Taylor recently reflected on her costume choice in Hey Dude and how it felt when she learnt about it ending.
For those unaware, the 54-year-old American actress portrayed Melody Hanson in the Western comedy series created by Dee LaDuke, which first aired on Nickelodeon in 1989 and ended in 1991 after five seasons.
At the Tanque Verde Ranch in Tucson, Arizona, Taylor recently reunited with the show’s costar David Lascher and others, which marked the first time the Hey Dude cast came back to the set together.
They also held a livestreamed event and during a fan Q&A session, one person asked if she donned the outfit from her personal wardrobe in the second-to-last episode of the show titled “Double Date.”
Responding to the question, Taylor laughingly said, “I was going to take matters into my own hands for the location shoot, and boy did I do well, with flowered leggings and a matching flower sweater that I oversized that I obviously loved enough to bring when I got cast on Saved By the Bell, to the wardrobe people there.”
“Now I look at it, and my God, the fact that I got that in two shows is uh… and people recognize it,” she shared.
In addition, when a fan asked when they learnt about the show’s end, they joked that the Zoolander actress was already set to move on.
The cast members revealed that Taylor was with Kelly Brown, who played Bradley “Brad” Taylor in Hey Dude, when they were informed that the fifth season would conclude the series.
“We got the call and we cried. You were kind of done though. Yours were tears of happiness,” Brown said, teasing her.

She also revealed a sweet detail about their garden: two palm trees connected at the bottom reminded Harry of them as a family.
“Now every day when Archie goes by, he says, hi, momma. Hi, papa,” The Duchess said.

U.S. equities fell for another day on Thursday as investors took a risk-off stance, leading popular trades in technology and bitcoin to unravel.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average shed 647 points, or 1.3%. The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite declined 1.5% and 1.8%, respectively. That move helped put tech-heavy Nasdaq on track for its largest three-day drop since April 21, 2025.
Alphabet was the latest of the “Magnificent Seven” companies to report earnings results. The company projected a sharp increase in artificial intelligence spending that spooked some investors, calling for 2026 capital expenditures of up to $185 billion. Shares were last down 5%. Shares of Broadcom jumped almost 2% following news of Alphabet’s spending plans, offering some hope for the artificial intelligence trade as the market deciphers its winners and losers.
Elsewhere, the sell-off in the cryptocurrency market continued to gain steam, as bitcoin fell below $67,000 after earlier sinking below $70,000 — which is considered a key support level. In the precious metals space, pressure on silver resumed. The metal’s prices snapping a two-day rebound and dropping as much as 16%. It had plummeted nearly 30% last Friday.
Bad news for the labor market
Adding to the downbeat sentiment, concerns surrounding labor market weakness grew after outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas reported that U.S. employers announced 108,435 layoffs in January, marking the highest January total since the global financial crisis.
This comes ahead of next week’s release of the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ January jobs report, which was pushed back as a result of the partial government shutdown that ended Tuesday.
Wall Street is coming off a turbulent trading session, which saw a sell-off software and chip stocks that drove the S&P 500 to a second straight day of losses. Those stocks were pummeled as fears of AI disruption in the industry had investors rotating out of tech en masse and into other more attractively valued parts of the market.
“After three years of strong AI rallies fueled by capex expansion, investors are now rewarding AI spending only when it comes with strong revenue growth,” said Mark Haefele, chief investment officer at UBS Global Wealth Management. “With AI continuing to reshape industries, we think the latest sell-off is unlikely to be a one-off event.”
