Rebecca Ferguson talks having first kid with much older man

Rebecca Ferguson is opening up about having her first child with a man 22 years older than her.

Rebecca had her son with Isac in her 20s with then-boyfriend Ludwig Hallberg, a holistic therapist who was then 45.

But the Dune actress wasn’t negatively impacted by the age difference.

She told Harper’s Bazaar: “I was very young, but I started working at 15… I was thrown into the deep end of work, maturity and responsibility.”

However, the relationship ended in 2015 after six years.

The Mission: Impossible star then went on to marry her current husband Rory St. Clair Gainer, 35, in 2018 and the couple share seven-year-old daughter Saga.

The actress went on to talk about doing her own stunts for the Mission: Impossible films, even during her pregnancy.

“I would be fighting, and then I’d run off and vom in a big bag somewhere, have a mint, then run back in,” she recalled.

“He comes with this… purpose. He’s a boy who just loves playing, and offers up a safe and professional set. That’s a really good balance [of qualities] to make you want to try new things,”

She added, “I was scared of heights, but you always have someone to jump in and take over, which means you can push yourself a little bit more – because at the last second you can always go, ‘Nope!'”

Rebecca Ferguson will soon be seen in Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man.

Brooklyn Beckham’s parents leave him scorned with ridicule with nothing left: Here’s why David’s panicked

Brooklyn Beckham has reached a point in his life where a tell-all is starting to make more and more sense. The reason? His parents and the backlash that came after he turned to Instagram Stories and laid out his side of the story against them.

For those unversed with all that followed, the media blew up into a frenzy and started to question both accounts but ultimately accusations started hurling towards Nicola and him for this decision because in the eyes of many, he’d never have gotten the chance to rub shoulders with billionaires like the Peltz had he not been his parents son.

Now, a well placed source attempts to explain his point of view on everything and admits, “Brooklyn was already in talks about doing a no-holds-barred book, but after seeing the backlash growing against him and Nicola following his revelations on Instagram, he’s now adamant that he needs to tell his side of the story.”

Since he dropped the initial bombshell on social media the source admits “it’s felt that the biggest bombshell is yet to come; one that could destroy Brand Beckham for good – which Brooklyn sees as the ultimate payback.” Whats more he “believes the truth would shock the public – including details about his parents’ marriage that have been kept quiet for years.”

What’s worse is his closeness and knowledge about the family’s past because he’s already hinted about a separation between parents that no-one knew about, “and some explosive things they’ve apparently said about other A-listers” too. So the fear is that “he’ll talk about the real story behind their ‘perfect’ brand – and what it was really like to grow up as a Beckham child.”

Since the Beckhams are said to be “a far cry” from the constructed image they portray publicly. “One day, someone – most likely Brooklyn – will lift the lid.” But to stop this in its tracks the Beckham parents have already had their team has reach out to Brooklyn’s team, “and tensions are at boiling point” leaving David “in a panic” as well as him and Victoria at “loggerheads over how to handle it.”

Their mounting fear allegedly is that “Brooklyn has felt so scorned by the ridicule he and Nicola have received that nothing is off limits,” which the source said before signing off.

Lindsey Graham abruptly ends meeting after Lebanese general refuses to label Hezbollah terrorists

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., swiftly pulled the plug on a meeting with Lebanese Chief of Defense Gen. Rodolphe Haykal after the Lebanese official refused to confirm that the Iranian regime-backed Hezbollah movement is a terrorist organization.

Graham posted to X a blunt message about his frustration with the state of Lebanon in particular and Mideast power politics in general.

“I just had a very brief meeting with the Lebanese Chief of Defense General Rodolphe Haykal. I asked him point blank if he believes Hezbollah is a terrorist organization. He said, ‘No, not in the context of Lebanon.” With that, I ended the meeting. They are clearly a terrorist organization. Hezbollah has American blood on its hands. Just ask the U.S. Marines,”

He continued, “They have been designated as a foreign terrorist organization by both Republican and Democrat administrations since 1997 – for good reason. As long as this attitude exists from the Lebanese Armed Forces, I don’t think we have a reliable partner in them. I am tired of the double speak in the Middle East. Too much is at stake.”

LAWMAKERS QUESTION WHETHER US MOVING FAST ENOUGH TO CAPITALIZE ON HEZBOLLAH’S WEAKENED STATE

Haykal’s refusal to recognize that Hezbollah is a terrorist organization set off security alarm bells among leading experts on the movement.

Matthew Levitt, a leading scholar on Hezbollah from the Washington Institute, told Fox News Digital that, ‘Gen. Haykal’s comment is only going to further concerns that the LAF sees Hezbollah as an actor with which it should deconflict, rather than disarm. The ceasefire agreement is clear that Hezbollah must be disarmed, in both the south and north of the country. In several instances to date, the LAF appears to have shared with Hezbollah targeting intelligence obtained from Israel through the US-led mechanism rather than acting on it.”

He added, “At a time when the LAF is seeking international aid, purportedly to disarm Hezbollah, failing to recognize the group as an adversary not only of Israel but of Lebanon as well undermines the case for further funding.”

Fox News Digital sent multiple press queries to Lebanon’s embassy in Washington, D.C.

Sarit Zehavi, a leading Israeli security expert on Hezbollah from the Israel Alma Research and Education Center, told Fox News Digital that, “I was not surprised by what Haykal said. This is exactly the problem. Hezbollah is not designated as a terrorist organization in Lebanon. The Lebanese army… is not willing to clash with Hezbollah. Hezbollah is not willing to voluntarily disarm. It will not happen as long as there is no clash.”

Zehavi claimed the Lebanese Armed Forces has “helped Hezbollah to conceal is military activity and weapons storages in south Lebanon.”

The U.S. brokered a ceasefire in Nov. 2024 between Hezbollah and Israel. In August, Lebanon’s government accepted an American plan to disarm the group by the end of 2025. That deadline does not seem to have been met.

U.S. Ambassador to Turkey, Thomas Barrack, who also serves as envoy to Syria, said at a recent Milken Institute event that Lebanon is a “failed state.”

Barrack said, “The confessional system does not work. A Maronite president, a Sunni prime minister and a Shia speaker; 128 parliamentary seats split equally between Islam and Christians; everything is a deadlock.”

He said, “Hezbollah is a foreign terrorist by U.S. standards,” and “it also happens to be a large political party within Lebanon that has blocking rights… This idea of saying you have to disarm Hezbollah … you’re not actually gonna do it militarily.”

Barrack said, “The U.S. is saying Hezbollah needs to be disarmed, Hezbollah is a foreign terrorist organization, it cannot exist. My personal opinion is you kill one terrorist, you create 10. That can’t be the answer.” He urged the Lebanese political leadership to “run to Israel and make a deal…there is no other answer.”

Walid Phares, an American academic expert on Hezbollah and Lebanon who has advised U.S. presidential candidates, told Fox News Digital that “The disarming of Hezbollah is not just a U.S. and international request but also and most importantly a request by a majority of Lebanese since at least the Cedars Revolution in 2005, when 1.5 million Lebanese Christians, Druze and Sunnis rallied against the Syrian occupation and the Khomeinist militia.”

He added, “While the Assad forces withdrew, Hezbollah remained armed. The latter was provoked by Hezbollah siding with Hamas during the Oct. 7 war.”

Fox News Digital reported in November that the Trump administration ramped up pressure on the Lebanese government to disarm Hezbollah.

Iranian official says nuclear talks will continue after US, Tehran negotiations had 'a good start' in Oman

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that indirect nuclear talks with the U.S. in Oman were “a good start” and that there was a “consensus” that the negotiations would continue.

“After a long period without dialogue, our viewpoints were conveyed, and our concerns were expressed. Our interests, the rights of the Iranian people, and all matters that needed to be stated were presented in a very positive atmosphere, and the other side’s views were also heard,” Araghchi said.

“It was a good start, but its continuation depends on consultations in our respective capitals and deciding on how to proceed,” he added.

Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi met with both Iranian and American officials on Friday, the Foreign Ministry of Oman said on X. The ministry said that al-Busaidi held separate meetings with Araghchi and U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

“The consultations focused on preparing the appropriate conditions for resuming diplomatic and technical negotiations, while emphasizing their importance, in light of the parties’ determination to ensure their success in achieving sustainable security and stability,” the Foreign Ministry of Oman said.

Oman reportedly put out a public statement acknowledging the talks after journalists with The Associated Press saw Iranian and American officials separately visit the palace, the outlet reported. The AP said it was not immediately clear if talks were done for the day, but noted that the palace was empty after the convoys left.

The Iranian representatives reportedly met with al-Busaidi first, and only after their convoy left the palace did another set of vehicles arrive, one of which had an American flag, according to the AP. The outlet said the SUV flying the American flag stayed at the palace for an hour and a half.

The talks were initially set to take place in Turkey, but were later moved, according to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who confirmed the change in venue on Wednesday.

“We thought we had an established forum that had been agreed to in Turkey. It was put together by a number of partners who wanted to attend and be a part of it,” Rubio said when taking questions from reporters on Wednesday.

“I saw conflicting reports yesterday from the Iranian side saying that they had not agreed to that. So, that’s still being worked through. At the end of the day, the United States is prepared to engage in, has always been prepared to engage with Iran.”

Iranian officials also reportedly tried to limit the talks to a bilateral U.S.-Iran format, excluding other Arab and regional countries, according to Axios.

RUBIO CONFIRMS IRAN DEMANDED VENUE CHANGE FOR NUCLEAR TALKS

Tensions between Iran and the U.S. have been high since Washington bombed Tehran’s nuclear facilities in the summer of 2025. Things escalated further as the U.S. condemned Iran’s treatment of anti-regime protesters, with President Donald Trump threatening to act if government actors used violence against demonstrators.

Trump recently said in an interview with NBC News that Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei “should be very worried,” though the president acknowledged that the two countries were “negotiating.”

When pressed about why he has not followed through on threats to take action if the regime used violence against protesters, Trump said that the U.S. “had their back” and that the “country’s a mess right now because of us,” referring to the strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. Trump also told NBC News that the U.S. had learned that Iran was attempting to build a new nuclear site in a different part of the country.

The president said that he issued a threat that if Iran were to build a new nuclear facility, the U.S. would “do very bad things.”

It is not immediately clear whether there will be more discussions over the course of the weekend or if there are any plans for direct discussions between Iranian and American officials.

The State Department did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Why it is important to be a minimalist in today’s world and 5 things minimalists would never buy their homes | – The Times of India

Why it is important to be a minimalist in today's world and 5 things minimalists would never buy their homes | - The Times of India

Minimalism never goes out of trend. It is because minimalism is not about owning nothing but is also about things that matter and has real value. At its heart, it clearly means choosing quality over quantity. It is also a kind of feeling that doesn’t allow people to do impulsive shopping. Rather than a style of fashion, it’s a state of mind and psychology of choice. On this note, let’s have a deeper look into five categories of items minimalists walk past and why you must skim them too.Decorative items that have no useUsability is the first thing a minimalist sees in an item. It’s an incredibly amazing thing and deliberate choice that they make because for them, their space is sacred. Decorative pieces that serve no purpose are useless for minimalists. Things like seasonal trinkets, and word-art signs without any emotional connection do not work for them. These items may look cute, but don’t have any real purpose. Instead, minimalists love meaningful items such as real flowers, an heirloom piece of art, or antique objects with some fascinating history. They connect with timeless and personal pieces. Single-use or specialized gadgets

Single-use or specialized gadgets are a strict no-no for minimalists. They find it as a perennial trap. Kitchen gadgets such as apple slicers or egg boilers have no use in a house of minimalists. They stay away from these items. They love gadgets which they can use for real. Like they may put their money in a set of quality knives or a good set of cookware. It’s not anti-technology, it’s about versatility. They clearly don’t like clutterBooks and mediaWell, don’t get them wrong but, books (despite being beloved treasures for many!) if don’t serve purpose, don’t have a place in a minimalist house. They don’t buy books with no real intention to read them. For avid readers, alternatives include borrowing, e-readers, or buying only if they are genuinely interested in the title. Impulsive purchases Minimalism strictly avoids impulsive purchases. They also don’t go for things simply because they were on sale. For them, bargains or low price tags can be traps. While others get tempted, they slowly walk past as such purchases serve no purpose. Minimalists often enjoy simple rules and pause helps filter genuine needs from unnecessary desires.Excess mugs, throw pillows

mugs

Sometimes clutter is not created by electronics or furniture, the main culprits can be objects like mugs, throw pillows, or unnecessary seasonal decor. Minimalists often keep just a few of their favorite mugs rather than a cupboard full. They would love to have neutral throw pillows that are always useful. Minimists choose items which have purpose and usability, else they don’t. This is the best thing as they don’t like clutter. Living with less becomes not about deprivation, but about making room for what truly matters and adding value. Whether it’s time, focus or relationships, what doesn’t work, throw it out. If you’re considering becoming a minimalist, start asking yourself the question of whether it truly belongs in your life and personal space. You might find that having less doesn’t feel empty, it feels complete.

Goldman Sachs taps Anthropic’s Claude to automate accounting, compliance roles

Goldman Sachs taps Anthropic’s Claude to automate accounting, compliance roles

Goldman Sachs has been working with the artificial intelligence startup Anthropic to create AI agents to automate a growing number of roles within the bank, the firm’s tech chief told CNBC exclusively.

The bank has, for the past six months, been working with embedded Anthropic engineers to co-develop autonomous agents in at least two specific areas: accounting for trades and transactions, and client vetting and onboarding, according to Marco Argenti, Goldman’s chief information officer.

The firm is “in the early stages” of developing agents based on Anthropic’s Claude model that will collapse the amount of time these essential functions take, Argenti said. He expects to launch the agents “soon,” though he declined to provide a specific date.

“Think of it as a digital co-worker for many of the professions within the firm that are scaled, are complex and very process intensive,” he said.

Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon said in October that his bank was embarking on a multiyear plan to reorganize itself around generative AI, the technology that has made waves since the arrival of OpenAI’s ChatGPT in late 2022. Even as investment banks like Goldman are experiencing surging revenue from trading and advisory activities, it will seek to “constrain headcount growth” amid the overhaul, Solomon said.

The news from Goldman comes as model updates from Anthropic, co-founded by a former OpenAI executive, have sparked a sharp sell-off among software firms and their credit providers as investors wager on who the winners and losers from the AI trade will be.

Goldman began last year by testing an autonomous AI coder called Devin, which is now broadly available to the bank’s engineers. But it quickly found that Anthropic’s AI model could work in other parts of the bank, Argenti said.

“Claude is really good at coding,” Argenti said. “Is that because coding is kind of special, or is it about the model’s ability to reason through complex problems, step-by-step, applying logic?”

Argenti said the firm was “surprised” at how capable Claude was at tasks besides coding, especially in areas like accounting and compliance that combine the need to parse large amounts of data and documents while applying rules and judgment, he said.

Now, the view within Goldman is that “there are these other areas of the firm where we could expect the same level of automation and the same level of results that we’re seeing on the coding side,” he said.

The upshot is that, with the help of the agents in development, clients will be onboarded faster and issues with trade reconciliation or other accounting matters will be solved faster, Argenti said.

Goldman could next develop agents for tasks like employee surveillance or making investment banking pitchbooks, he said.

While the bank employs thousands of people in the compliance and accounting functions where AI agents will soon operate, Argenti said that it was “premature” to expect that the technology will lead to job losses for those workers.

Still, Goldman could cut out third-party providers it uses today as AI technology matures, he said.

“It’s always a trade-off,” Argenti said. “Our philosophy right now is that we’re injecting capacity, which in most cases will allow us to do things faster, which translates to a better client experience and more business.”

A Maryland man was arrested for reportedly targeting Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director Russell Vought in a murder plot.

The Arlington County Police Department said Colin Demarco, 26, of Rockville, is now facing charges of attempted murder, criminal solicitation to commit murder, carrying a concealed weapon and wearing a mask in public to conceal identity.

“We are grateful for the work of law enforcement in keeping Director Vought and his family safe,” an OMB spokesperson told Fox News Digital on Friday.

Sources familiar with the case told CBS News that Demarco allegedly was targeting Vought. The outlet cited a criminal complaint as saying that Demarco is accused of trying to kill an individual with the initials “R.V.”, who, “has served as a presidential appointee.”

The Arlington County Police Department said Demarco was arrested at his residence on Jan. 16, 2026, and is being held without bond at the Arlington County Detention Facility following his extradition to Virginia.

“At approximately 3:15 p.m. on August 10, 2025, Arlington County Police were dispatched to the 3800 block of 7th Street S. for the report of a suspicious person. A witness reported observing a male suspect, who was wearing a surgical mask and rubber gloves, carrying a backpack and appeared to be concealing a firearm under his shirt, on the victim’s porch,” police said in a statement Thursday.

“The suspect subsequently approached the witness and inquired about the victim before leaving the scene. The witness then contacted police and responding officers established a perimeter and canvassed the area for the suspect with negative results. The incident was captured on home surveillance video and the suspect was subsequently identified,” police continued.

“During the course of the investigation, the Arlington County Police Department executed search warrants for digital records associated with the suspect. As a result of these search warrants, police recovered digital evidence that the suspect had obtained directions to the victim’s residence, had information detailing locations of firearms possessed by a relative and had a guide detailing tips to prevent criminal detection,” the Arlington County Police Department added.

“Additionally, the suspect had posted online about the victim and had online discussions appearing to solicit others to murder the victim. Within days of these online solicitations, the August 10 incident occurred where the suspect arrived at the victim’s address wearing a mask and gloves, possibly concealing a firearm and inquired about the victim. As a result of the investigation, detectives obtained the criminal warrants for the suspect’s arrest,” it also said.

Demarco allegedly said he went to Vought’s home because he wanted to confront him about Project 2025, CBS News reported, citing the complaint.

In November 2024, Demarco also was taken into custody in Maryland through a mental illness emergency petition, following a request for a police officer to run him over or shoot him, according to CBS News.

Watch Super Bowl LX ads: 10 must‑see commercials

Watch Super Bowl LX ads: 10 must‑see commercials

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

The cost of a Super Bowl commercial has officially entered jaw-dropping territory. For Super Bowl LX, some 30-second ad slots have reportedly sold for as much as $10 million.

That figure marks a new high for the Big Game. Even the average price this year sits closer to $8 million. As a result, Super Bowl airtime has become one of the most valuable buys in advertising, especially for brands chasing massive live audiences.

Back in 1967, when the first Super Bowl aired, commercial placements were modest and easy to overlook. Since then, the Super Bowl has grown into a cultural event where advertisers compete for attention and relevance. Today, commercials are no longer treated as interruptions. Instead, they are appointment viewing. With audiences expected to once again approach historic highs, brands are betting that the right creative moment can justify even an eight-figure price tag.

Based on what brands are putting on screen this year, that investment shows up in different ways. For example, Super Bowl LX ads span a wide range of styles. Some lean into self-aware humor and celebrity chaos. Others focus on quieter, more emotional storytelling and wellness messages.

SUPER BOWL SCAMS SURGE IN FEBRUARY AND TARGET YOUR DATA

Ben Affleck and the art of Super Bowl self-parody

Dunkin’ is once again leaning all the way into self-aware absurdity, and Ben Affleck is clearly having a blast. In “Golden Cringe,” Affleck returns for his fourth straight Super Bowl run with Dunkin’ Donuts, this time pitching a VHS-era “gold mine” to two mystery figures named “Jen and Matt” — setting off a celebrity guessing game about whether familiar faces like Jennifer Lopez and Matt Damon might return.

The teaser plays like a chaotic brainstorm you were never supposed to see, and Affleck’s long-running joke that his Dunkin’ obsession predates fame, studios and good ideas. Affleck even riffs on how other stores once “kicked him out,” underscoring his obsession with the brand while teasing that this could be the “pinnacle of all our careers.”

When one keg becomes the main character

Bud Light keeps it simple and lets the moment spiral. In Keg, NFL legend Peyton Manning, comedian Shane Gillis and Grammy winner Post Malone stand together as Manning casually holds a glass of Bud Light. Post Malone scans the scene and asks the question everyone at a party eventually asks: “Is there enough for everyone?” Manning points off into the distance and replies, “Oh, right there,” just as a guy hauling a keg completely loses control. The keg breaks free and starts rolling down a canyon, sending all three tumbling after it as Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You swells dramatically in the background. After the chaos settles, Manning stands up, places his Bud Light down and looks around before delivering the understated line, “Heck of a wedding, huh?”

The ceremony somehow continues. Gillis turns to the bride and offers a polite, “Hey, it’s a great ceremony,” then pivots to the camera and deadpans, “I give it a week.” The ad lands by letting the contrast do the work. Sentimental music, runaway kegs and brutally honest humor collide, making Bud Light’s Super Bowl moment feel effortless, absurd and perfectly timed.

A sci-fi legend tackles fiber head-on

Kellogg’s leans into nostalgia and cheeky humor with Will Shat, starring William Shatner as Raisin Bran’s unlikely “bran ambassador.” The spot opens in space as an alert flashes that America is low on fiber. Shatner answers the call in classic deadpan style, declaring that “duty calls” before announcing he is here to bring fiber to the masses with Kellogg’s Raisin Bran. The ad then becomes a fast-moving tour of everyday life. Shatner pops up in a sports bar and a living room, calmly delivering bathroom-adjacent puns while everyone around him looks stunned.

He declares, “It’s fiber time,” then eyes a nearby dog and asks, “Is that dog a shih tzu?” The joke lands again when the pup’s collar reveals a “Will” dog tag. The chaos peaks at a football tailgate, where Shatner climbs onto a car, mutters that he is “too old for this,” and crashes down onto a table stacked with Raisin Bran boxes.

Uber Eats plays it straight in “Diner Menu,” starring Parker Posey and Matthew McConaughey as two people calmly unraveling what they believe is an obvious truth. Sitting together, Posey starts laying out her case, rattling off food-coded phrases like “pancake blocks” and “hash marks,” treating football terminology like menu items. McConaughey nods and admits he could eat that “every morning and twice on Sunday.” Their conclusion feels inevitable. Football, according to them, is basically a diner menu.

McConaughey takes the theory a step further with a piece of football trivia. Barry Sanders played for Detroit for 10 years. What color was his jersey? Blue. Posey answers, “Blueberry,” McConaughey responds by letting out a shriek and casually popping a blueberry into his mouth. Parker then immediately admits, “That was a bit of a reach,” with Matthew adding, “Football is totally selling food.”

A Super Bowl teaser built on kindness and community

Rocket and Redfin take a softer approach to Super Bowl advertising with a black-and-white teaser featuring Lady Gaga. The spot reimagines “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” – the iconic theme from Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood – setting the tone for a larger campaign focused on home, belonging and community. Instead of spectacle, the teaser leans on simplicity, emotion and a familiar melody that immediately signals warmth. Gaga’s understated performance anchors the message. Known for championing individuality and kindness, she brings a quiet sincerity to the song that feels personal rather than performative.

A deli singalong powered by mayo

Hellmann’s turns lunchtime into a full-blown musical in “Meal Diamond,” starring Andy Samberg as a parody crooner inspired by Neil Diamond. Set inside a crowded deli, the ad kicks off as Samberg launches into “Sweet Sandwich Time,” a mayo-fueled anthem that quickly pulls everyone behind the counter and in line into the performance. What starts as a routine lunch rush spirals into controlled chaos, with generous streams of Hellmann’s mayonnaise getting squeezed onto every sandwich by Samberg as he says, “This is how I make friends” and sings, “I’ll squirt you while I am walking by.”

Among the stunned customers is Elle Fanning, who plays the straight face to Samberg’s improv-heavy energy. She looks on and tells him, “You are incredible.” Samberg fires back without missing a beat, “Incredibly lonely.” If the goal is to get viewers humming and craving extra mayo on their sandwiches, Meal Diamond hits every note.

Grocery preferences go full Europop

Instacart’s “Bananas” spot leans into over-the-top ’80s Europop energy with Ben Stiller and Benson Boone as a retro disco-pop duo battling it out on a glittering stage. Directed by Spike Jonze, the 30-second commercial highlights Instacart’s new “Preference Picker” tool by turning grocery pickiness into performance art. Stiller and Boone harmonize about choosing bananas just the way you like them, using the app’s feature. As the duet escalates, Boone shows off with a dramatic mid-song backflip, prompting Stiller’s character to try and match him.

That attempt ends with Stiller crashing spectacularly into the drum kit on stage, underscoring the absurd rivalry and keeping the energy chaotic and fun. The spot closes with Ben falling off the stage and the tagline “Bananas just how you like,” a playful nod to the new Preference Picker, which helps Instacart customers choose banana ripeness and other grocery details with precision.

BUDWEISER UNVEILS PATRIOTIC NEW SUPER BOWL AD HONORING ‘DEEP-ROOTED AMERICAN HERITAGE’

A ski lesson with Super Bowl stakes

Michelob ULTRA makes its Super Bowl debut with “The ULTRA Instructor,” starring Kurt Russell and Lewis Pullman in a spot that blends winter sports intensity with laid-back beer humor. The 60-second commercial casts Russell as a legendary ski instructor training Pullman’s character to unlock a competitive edge, where bragging rights and rounds of ULTRA are on the line. The training montage leans into Russell’s coaching persona, complete with a playful callback to his role as Herb Brooks in Miracle. As Pullman sharpens his skis and pushes through drills, Russell delivers the familiar command, “Again,” turning a friendly ski session into a mock high-stakes competition.

The contrast between elite-level motivation and low-pressure rewards keeps the tone light while tapping into sports nostalgia. Directed by Joseph Kosinski, the spot also features Olympic snowboarder Chloe Kim and NHL champion T.J. Oshie, reinforcing Michelob ULTRA’s connection to Team USA and the Winter Olympics. By merging Super Bowl spectacle with Olympic energy, Michelob ULTRA positions itself as the beer for competition, camaraderie and winning moments on and off the slopes.

A health message takes the Super Bowl stage

Ro makes its Super Bowl debut with “Healthier on Ro,” starring Serena Williams in a rare healthcare-focused Big Game spot. This time, the direct-to-patient company uses the moment to talk about GLP-1 medications in a broader way. Instead of framing them as a quick fix for weight loss, the ad positions them as a tool for overall health.

In the commercial, Williams speaks candidly about her own experience using GLP-1s through Ro. Over the past year, she says she has lost 34 pounds. As a result, she has eased stress on her knees and stabilized her blood sugar. She also points to improvements in her cholesterol levels and overall heart health.

More importantly, Williams focuses on how the program fits into her life. “I feel better now than I have in years,” she says. The message stays centered on feeling stronger and more like herself, rather than chasing a number on the scale. For Ro, the ad marks a major step. It brings healthcare and GLP-1 conversations into a space usually dominated by snacks, beer and cars. Airing during Super Bowl LX, the spot reflects how wellness brands are increasingly using the Big Game to normalize treatment, reduce stigma and reach a mainstream audience through personal stories.

Pepsi flips the cola wars in a polar-powered spot

Pepsi takes a playful jab at soda rivalries with “The Choice,” a 30-second commercial directed by Taika Waititi that brings the classic Pepsi Challenge to life. At the center of the ad is a cola-loving polar bear, a nod to the iconic mascot long associated with Coca-Cola, who sits down for a blind taste test between Pepsi Zero Sugar and Coke Zero Sugar. When taste alone determines the winner, he surprisingly picks Pepsi, exposing a phenomenon Pepsi refers to as the “Pepsi Paradox,” where people prefer Pepsi once brand labels and bias disappear.

Set to Queen’s “I Want to Break Free,” the bear’s initial shock turns into a whimsical journey of self-discovery, complete with a humorous therapist cameo by Waititi himself and a concert-style celebration that evokes a memorable kiss-cam moment, with the tagline, “You deserve taste.” The ad leans into Pepsi’s decades-long cola rivalry by turning an age-old debate into a lighthearted story about taste and identity, challenging viewers to rethink which cola they’d choose when all labels are removed.

Kurt’s key takeaways

Super Bowl commercials have always reflected the moment we are living in. In 2026, that moment feels louder, stranger, more emotional and far more expensive. For example, some beer ads lean into chaos and humor. Meanwhile, food brands embrace full-on absurdity. At the same time, healthcare companies are stepping onto football’s biggest stage. Still, the common thread among them is ambition. At $10 million per slot, brands are not just buying airtime. Instead, they are buying a chance to be remembered. Some commercials will land iconic moments. Others will fade by halftime. In the end, one thing is clear. The Super Bowl is no longer just a game with ads. It is an advertising event that happens to include football.

Children trapped in Texas immigration facility recount nightmares, inedible food, no school

Children trapped in Texas immigration facility recount nightmares, inedible food, no school

The psychological toll can be just as severe. During a recent visit, Lee said, a 5-year-old girl described a recurring nightmare: A large animal chases her, but she can’t outrun it because she’s trapped in a cage.

She and her siblings “wake up crying for their mom every night because they’re worried they’re going to get separated from her,” Lee said.

Lawyers representing detainees argue that prolonged confinement in harsh conditions — coupled with repeated warnings about family separation — is meant to coerce parents into abandoning pending asylum claims that could allow them to remain in the U.S.

DHS tells detained families, “Well, if you want this to stop, agree to give up your case,” said Javier Hidalgo, legal director for RAICES, which provides legal support for immigrant families in Texas, including at Dilley. “We’ve heard that time and time again.”

Kelly Vargas said she and her husband felt that pressure from the moment they arrived at Dilley with their daughter, Maria.

The family came to the U.S. in 2022 after having fled Colombia and settled in New York, where they checked in regularly with immigration officials. They had applied for special visas for human trafficking victims, saying they were subjected to forced labor and death threats while they were traveling through Mexico.

After they were arrested during a September check-in and sent to Dilley, Vargas said, officers repeatedly pressured her and her husband to drop their visa applications.

“He told us that if we didn’t deport ourselves, they were going to take our daughter from us,” she said. “Our daughter would be left in the custody of the state, where not even our lawyers would know where she was.”

At first, Vargas said, she and her husband resisted, determined to fight for the life they had built in New York, where he worked in construction during the day and she worked as a waitress and cleaner overnight. They initially told Maria they were on vacation in Texas, but the girl knew better. She would drop to her knees and beg to go home to see her cat, Milo. At times, Vargas said, she screamed so intensely that even staff members appeared shaken.

“Get me out of here,” she would cry. “I want to leave.”

Maria’s health quickly declined, Vargas said. She developed a persistent cough and struggled to eat, losing weight as the days passed. Then, Vargas said, a staff member who was cleaning accidentally struck her daughter in the eye with a mop, drawing blood.

Despite her daughter’s continued complaints of blurred vision, sensitivity to light and hearing problems, Vargas said, doctors dismissed her concerns and delayed further evaluation.

With her daughter ailing, Vargas said, she and her husband finally agreed to leave.

They were deported to Colombia in November.

Healing from the ordeal has taken longer, Vargas said. Maria still has vision problems and headaches. The sweet girl who loved her teacher and played with Barbies is now fearful and withdrawn, talking often about her weeks in Texas and the workers who watched over her.

Whenever she sees a police officer, she tenses.

“It’s the bad men,” she says.
