Lewis Capaldi breaks silence over ‘Opalite’ video role
Lewis Capaldi is thanking Taylor Swift for casting him in her star-studded Opalite music video as a photographer.
Capaldi, 29, who’s himself a celebrated singer, took to Instagram on Saturday, Lewis shared a slew of photos from the video captioned: “Thank you for having me @taylorswift.”
The Someone You Loved hitmaker appeared in the video alongside Domhnall Gleeson, Cillian Murphy, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Greta Lee, all of whom were Taylor’s fellow guests on an episode of The Graham Norton Show last year. The host also made a cameo appearance in the song.
The pop star sent fans wild when she released the video on Friday when she released the star studded video.
In the caption, she explained how she got the idea after Domhnall said he wanted to be in one of her videos.
“When we were all talking during the broadcast, Domhnall made a light-hearted joke about wanting to be in one of my music videos,” she wrote on Friday.
“He’s Irish! He was joking! Except that in that moment during the interview, I was instantly struck with an idea,” she added.
“I had this thought that it would be wild if all of our fellow guests on the Graham Norton show that night, including Graham himself, could be a part of it too,” the Karma hitmaker continued. “Like a school group project but for adults and it isn’t mandatory.”
“I had more fun than I ever imagined,” Taylor Swift added. “Made new friends, metaphors, and fashion choices. It was an absolute thrill to create this story and these characters.”
Brooklyn Beckham plunges Victoria, David Beckham into marital woes: ‘They’re exhausted as it seeps into marriage
Victoria and David Beckham have come face to face with troubles that are threatening to over take their marriage and the reason is their son who seems to be helping this descent.
The allegation against Brooklyn comes via a US-based outlet who believes David and Victoria’s stress levels are understandably at an “all-time high” and “with any intense family drama, those involved take it out on those they love the most.”
At the moment, “they’re exhausted, emotional and hurting, and it’s starting to seep into every part of their marriage.” Per the insider “this situation has tested their bond in ways they never expected. But Victoria is very much the CEO of Brand Beckham and David has no desire to try and take charge or dominate her – he will be leaving this crisis to Victoria to sort out as a mastermind of PR.”
To mitigate this strain the family seems to have turned to their nearest and dearest, which includes Tana and Gordon Ramsey and both the celebrity chef and his wife are reportedly “in total disbelief of what they were reading.”
“They see Brooklyn’s behaviour as another level of hurt” and Gordon in particular feels like this is not “the beautifully mannered young man” he knew, they don’t recognise him.”
However, what the source doubled down on was that “while it’s been a challenging time, David and Victoria are adamant that this won’t break them. Whatever the outcome with Brooklyn, who they will always love, they will do whatever it takes to protect their other three children and remain united as a unit.”

Software engineering may be the profession feeling the sharpest impact of artificial intelligence, with core tasks such as coding increasingly being handled by AI systems. Tech giants like Google, Amazon and Microsoft are already using AI to generate portions of new codebases—a trend expected to accelerate.
Against this backdrop, Dario Amodei, chief executive of Anthropic, has issued a stark warning: software engineering as a profession could effectively become obsolete within the next 12 months. While the claim has sparked debate, it has also drawn support from industry leaders, including Sridhar Vembu, founder of Zoho, who says the warning deserves serious attention.
Amodei made the remarks last month at the World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos, where he spoke about how rapidly AI is reshaping jobs, productivity and the global economy. He argued that the impact of AI on employment is no longer theoretical, particularly in software development.
The comments went viral online, drawing both agreement and scepticism. Responding to a clip of Amodei’s remarks shared on X, Vembu urged people not to dismiss the warning. “We better pay attention to him because he has the best coding tool in the world,” Vembu wrote, noting that the message carries weight because it comes from the head of a company building some of the most advanced AI coding tools.
Explaining his concern, Amodei said AI is rapidly shifting from being a productivity aid to becoming the primary executor of work. Software development, he noted, is among the clearest examples of this transition. At Anthropic itself, engineers increasingly rely on AI models to generate code, stepping in mainly to review and refine outputs.
“I have engineering leads who have basically said to me, ‘I don’t write any code anymore. I just let Opus do the work and I edit it,’” Amodei said.
While his warning focused on coders, Amodei cautioned that the implications extend far beyond software teams. He said AI could drive significant job losses across industries as models grow more capable at an accelerating pace.
“We basically have a Moore’s Law for intelligence, where the model is getting more and more cognitively capable every few months,” he said, arguing that as AI takes on increasingly complex tasks, the need for large teams of human programmers could shrink dramatically—potentially eliminating job categories that took decades to build.

A popular food influencer with over two million TikTok followers has claimed that she was drugged and then kidnapped at a Hollywood premiere party four years ago.
Meredith Hayden, the social media chef behind Wishbone Kitchen, addressed her mental health in a video response to a now-deleted TikTok criticizing her for speaking openly about travel anxiety ahead of a birthday trip to Japan.
“The reason why I was crying and anxious about flying across the globe is because four years ago, I was roofied at a Hollywood premiere party in a very luxurious setting where I thought I was safe and I thought I could trust the people around me,” Hayden, 30, said in the video posted Tuesday.
Being “roofied” refers to being drugged unknowingly with a date-rape drug like Rohypnol, which typically causes symptoms like drowsiness and memory gaps.
Hayden said that at the party, she tried to go home because she “started to feel weird,” but then someone “pushed me into their car and kidnapped me for, like, a few hours.”

She added, “And I’m laughing because humor is the way I cope.”
The chef went on to say that she never spoke about the incident online because it happened as she was gaining a following on TikTok, and she did not want to be known as the “roofie kidnap girl.”
She also said she did not report it to the police because she did not know anyone at the party and knew that there was no security camera footage at the event. “This is something I know because the invite to the party said, ‘Don’t worry, the cameras will be off, so we can all really let loose,’” she said.
“I put my big girl pants on, and I shoved the feelings down for as long as I could. So, yeah, I still get anxious leaving my house. And I probably will forever,” she said.
Hayden did not immediately return The Independent’s request for further comment.
The popular food influencer rose to viral fame in early 2022 with her “Day in the Life” TikTok vlogs documenting her work as a private chef for a fashion designer in the Hamptons. She quickly built a loyal following by sharing daily content and recipes, and now counts nearly four million followers across Instagram and TikTok. Last year, she released The Wishbone Kitchen Cookbook, which spent 12 weeks on The New York Times bestseller list.
Recently, Hayden has kept her followers up to date with her 30th birthday trip to Tokyo. She said in her new video that although she was excited for the vacation, she still felt anxious about visiting the crowded city because after her alleged experience at the party, she was diagnosed with “PTSD, anxiety, depression, and a pinch of agoraphobia, where I’m afraid to go into crowded spaces,” she said.
“So, yes, I was staying in very nice hotels. It was my 30th birthday, and that was my present to myself,” she said. “But that doesn’t mean you can’t have anxiety about your situation, about being in a foreign country where you don’t speak the language and you know nobody except for the person you’re traveling with.”
Orange juice lovers are reflecting on the end of an era as Minute Maid has announced it will be discontinuing its frozen products, including its cans of frozen orange juice concentrate.
The breakfast staple — which was first made available to the public in 1946 — was meant to provide convenience for households that did not want to spend hours squeezing fresh oranges and instead dropped the frozen can into a pitcher of water for drinking. However, Minute Maid recently announced all of its frozen juices, including lemonade and limeade, would be discontinued in April to prioritize its line of fresh juices.
“We are discontinuing our frozen products and exiting the frozen can category in response to shifting consumer preferences,” The Coca-Cola Co., which owns Minute Maid, said Wednesday in a statement.
Customers have since expressed their disappointment with the loss of one of the beverages they grew up on.
“Sad! I know concentrate is not ideal, but it was a cost-effective option and still higher in actual nutrition than trendy drinks like kombucha that are now popular,” one person claimed on X.

“Nooooo! It’s also good to use in cocktails!” another person lamented.
“Always remember my mom dumping the frozen glob into a pitcher and breaking it up with a big wooden spoon!” shared a third.
In 1946, Vacuum Foods Corp. became the first U.S. company to ship frozen orange juice across the country, according to Coca-Cola. It named the product Minute Maid; Vacuum Foods eventually changed its name to Minute Maid as well. Rival Tropicana, which still sells frozen canned juice, was founded in 1947.
Coca-Cola acquired Minute Maid in 1960, and 13 years later, Minute Maid introduced ready-to-drink orange juice, which was sold in the refrigerated case instead of the freezer, and let consumers skip the step of mixing it up. Minute Maid added lemonade and fruit punch to its lineup in 1980.
In recent years, orange juice has struggled as other options, like energy drinks and protein smoothies, have flooded the market. Skyrocketing prices due to poor weather conditions in Brazil and Florida haven’t helped; a 12-ounce can of frozen orange juice costs an average of $4.82 in December, up 13 percent from the prior year, according to U.S. government data.
Consumers also increasingly questioned the added sugar in juices. Minute Maid launched Zero Sugar versions of its fresh juices in 2020. But its frozen juices have languished along with the broader frozen juice category.
U.S. sales of frozen beverages fell nearly 8 percent in the 52 weeks ending Jan. 24, according to the market research firm NielsenIQ.
Disney recently came out with a new sipper, which is basically a reusable souvenir cup, sold at both Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, and Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. The plastic sippers hold about 15 to 18 ounces of liquid and are designed to look like the iconic alien toys, also referred to as the Little Green Men, in Pixar’s 1995 hit animated movie Toy Story.
The bright novelty cups are available to buy at certain food and drink spots in each theme park — but travel writer Zoë Wood discovered there is a whopping $10 difference between the ones sold at Disneyland and Disney World.
“As I looked into where exactly you could find these new delights, I noticed something I had somehow missed before. The pricing is wildly different from coast to coast,” Wood wrote on the Walt Disney World blog WDWINFO.
At Woody’s Lunch Box, an eatery in Toy Story Land at Disney World’s Hollywood Studios, the Little Green Men Jetpack Sipper costs $19.79 and includes a choice of a fountain drink. Customers are only allowed to buy two at a time.

However, over at sunny Disney California Adventure, the exact same item is sold for $29.79 at the Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta restaurant in Paradise Gardens Park.
Wood also reported that the sipper was also sold for $29.79 at Alien Pizza Planet in Disneyland Park, but The Independent was unable to verify the location’s pricing as the website was down.
Disney did not immediately return The Independent’s request for clarification about the price disparity.
In general, the theme parks operate on a variable pricing scale when it comes to ticketing. Contrary to the difference in products, a ticket to Disneyland is typically cheaper than it is for Disney World.
Starting in October 2026, Walt Disney World is bumping up its prices for single-day tickets, annual passes and even annual pass renewals. The average price for a single-day admission ticket at the park will be about $5 more. However, the lowest-priced single-day ticket to Animal Kingdom — the cheapest of the five parks — will stay at $119.
Meanwhile, the lowest Disneyland ticket price is expected to stay at $104 as it has for the last seven years, even as employee wages have more than doubled during that time, Disney said.
From snacks and drinks to setting the mood, cricket in India is a religion, and watching the T20 World Cup is mandatory. Here’s how you can be a fun host.
If you are hosting friends for a T20 cricket watch party, ensure you play good host with snacks, beverages and decor
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is back, and you can feel the excitement in the air. Friends are already getting into arguments over which team will win, people are picking sides, and jerseys of India and other top teams are slowly taking over wardrobes and streets. With fans from across the globe travelling to India and Sri Lanka for the tournament, the buzz feels bigger than ever.
But celebrations truly feel more fun when you call your friends over to watch together, laugh at the near misses, and celebrate the big wickets as a group. Not all of us are lucky enough to get stadium tickets for every match, so creating that match-day experience at home becomes the next best thing. Hosting a watch party is a simple way to bring all that energy under one roof. Here are four simple ways to make your match-day watch party a hit.
Get the Screen Right and Seating Sorted
First things first, make sure everyone can watch the game. Nothing kills the vibe faster than everyone crowding into one corner and missing a big catch or a sudden wicket. If you have a big TV, that’s great for smaller groups. For larger gatherings, a projector can give you a mini stadium feel at home. Options like the Portronics Beem 470 Smart LED Projector or WZATCO Yuva Go Android 13.0 Smart Projector are budget-friendly and easy to set up, while models such as the Crossbeats Lumex Solis 4K Ultra HD Smart Mini Projector, XGIMI Horizon Ultra Projector, or BenQ TK710 4K UHD Home Cinema Laser Projector offer sharper visuals for a fuller watch-party experience. Close the curtains, dim the lights, and place the screen at eye level so even friends sitting on the floor get a clear view. Once the screen is sorted, think about seating. Leave enough space to move, cheer, and argue freely. And when the debates get heated, keep the screen a little away from flying elbows so the match doesn’t end with a broken TV.
Stock Up on Easy Snacks and Drinks
Nothing keeps the energy up like snacks within arm’s reach. Go for quick bites that don’t need constant attention, so no one misses a wicket. Popcorn, loaded nachos, dips, samosas, cutlets, fries, and finger foods work well for live match viewing. The STTEM 2.0 Report by Godrej Yummiez states that 51% of Indians consume frozen snacks while watching TV, OTT or mobile content, making at-home screen time one of the biggest snacking occasions in the country. Having something hot and ready in minutes makes mid-over munching even easier. Options like Godrej Yummiez chicken nuggets or crispy chicken fit right into this mix, keeping everyone snacking without stepping away from the screen. Pair it all with soft drinks or chilled beer, keep everything within reach, and you’ve got a setup that lets everyone stay glued to the screen from the first ball to the final over.
Amp Up the Game Vibes
Little touches make a big difference in bringing the stadium feel home. Team flags, jerseys, or even a few banners can instantly get everyone in the mood. Good quality speakers help capture the commentary, crowd noise, and those big moments, making the match feel more immersive. Soft room lighting or dim lights around the screen can also add to the atmosphere without distracting from the game. Play the team anthems or pre-match commentary to build excitement, and if someone insists on doing their own victory dance after a six, let them – it only adds to the fun. These small touches turn an ordinary living room into a space that feels like part of the action.
Keep the Energy Up Between Overs
Even during quiet moments in the match, you can keep everyone engaged. Set up quick games like predicting the next wicket, guessing the next boundary, or a mini trivia round about players and past matches. Cheering contests, friendly debates on team strategy, or picking a “man of the match” early on also keep conversations flowing. If you have some space, small challenges like a fastest catch or accuracy throw can add to the fun during time-outs. These little extras keep everyone involved, spark laughs and friendly arguments, and make sure the energy stays high right until the next ball is bowled.

‘Bridgerton’ author Julia Quinn on whether actors will be recast in future seasons
Bridgerton author Julia Quinn is addressing the speculation that some actors in the show may be recast in the future seasons.
“I don’t necessarily know how they’re gonna spin it or write it or what they’re going to keep and change,” Quinn told Us Weekly.
She noted that the upcoming seasons will be about Francesca and Eloise, but the order hasn’t been decided yet.
In Quinn’s book To Sir Phillip, With Love, Eloise (Claudia Jessie) falls in love with Phillip (Chris Fulton), who appeared in seasons 1 and 2.
“I love her story,” said Quinn. “He’s got two kids who she has got to wrangle, which is awesome. The fact that Eloise is going to have an instant family is awesome. His twins are pretty ruthless to her so I hope they keep stuff like that in.”
Regarding Fulton reprising the role or being recast, she said she doesn’t know what will be done.
Other cast members fans fear will be recast are the youngest Bridgerton siblings Hyacinth (Florence Hunt) and Gregory (Will Tilston). But the author thinks the duo will be the right age when their seasons will be filmed.
“It’s funny because they were, like, 12 and 13 when they started. If you asked me that back then [about the same actors playing them as adults], I’d be like, ‘I don’t know.’ But when I saw them again at the premiere, they were both drinking wine,” Quinn shared.
“They’re both 18 now and Will was there with his girlfriend,” she added.
“It takes a few years to film, so by the time we get to Hyacinth and Gregory, the actors are going to be well into their 20s,” she added.
Bridgerton season 4 part 1 is streaming on Netflix and part 2 will drop on February 26.
Guwahati: Indian Railways plans to build a new underground railway line to improve connectivity in the Northeastern states. The line will pass through the Siliguri corridor in North Bengal, known as the ‘Chicken’s Neck’.
Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) Chief Public Relations Officer Kapinjal Kishore Sharma stated that the underground route will run from Tinmile Hat to Rangapani and Bagdogra in the Darjeeling district, West Bengal. Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has emphasised that the project is intended to provide secure, reliable, and continuous rail connectivity within this strategically significant corridor.
The Katihar Division of NFR will manage the project, which will cover areas in the Darjeeling and Uttar Dinajpur districts of West Bengal and in the Kishanganj district, Bihar. The underground line will extend 35.76 km between Dumdangi and Bagdogra, including a 33.40 km Dumdangi-Rangapani segment. This alignment will provide resilient connectivity through the 22 km Siliguri Corridor, which connects mainland India to the Northeast.

Due to its proximity to the borders with Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh, as well as its susceptibility to natural disasters and security risks, the underground line is regarded as highly significant. It will provide a secure alternative route for defence personnel, military equipment, and emergency relief materials.
The project will facilitate air-rail logistics integration, given its proximity to Bagdogra Air Force Station and Bengdubi Army Cantonment. It will incorporate advanced technologies such as a 2×25 kV AC electrification system, Automatic Signalling (Standard-IV) with VOIP-based communication, bridges designed to RDSO 25-ton axle load standards, and twin tunnels constructed using Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) and New Austrian Tunneling Method (NATM) techniques.
The development of this underground line demonstrates Indian Railways’ commitment to enhancing strategic infrastructure in the Northeast and aligns with the government of India’s vision for integrated and secure development. NFR, headquartered in Maligaon near Guwahati, operates in the Northeastern states, seven districts of West Bengal, and five districts of northern Bihar.
Dakar rally: The Dakar Rally is one of the world’s toughest off-road races. It is a multi-stage event covering almost 8,000 kilometres over deserts, dunes, rocks, and rough terrain.
