Abs don’t equal healthy arteries: Doctor explains why appearance isn’t a health report card

Dr. Naveen Bhamri: BMI is a basic screening tool, but it doesn’t show body fat distribution, cholesterol levels, or artery health. Someone can have a ‘normal’ BMI but still have high visceral fat, insulin resistance, or unhealthy cholesterol. Common urban habits like late nights, high caffeine intake, poor sleep, stress, smoking, alcohol, frequent eating out, and reliance on protein shakes or processed foods can quietly increase heart risk.

Robin Windsor’s death: Kate Beckinsale says it was preventable tragedy

An inquiry into the death of Robin Windsor, a former Strictly Come Dancing professional, has revealed that  being “vulnerable to rejection both emotionally and professionally” were factors in the decline of his mental health.

Windsor, who took part in the BBC One series from 2010 to 2013, died at the age of 44 in February 2024.

According to BBC, the inquest at West London Coroner’s Court heard that he was found dead in a hotel room in Shepherd’s Bush, west London.

Quoting Windsor’s former co-star, a report in The Telegraph said the deceased had suffered
“too much pain, too much disappointment” before ending his own life.

Taking to Instagram, British actress Kate Beckinsale shared screenshots of  The Telegraph story and  expressed deep sorrow over what Windsor went through.

She wrote, “What an absolutely senseless and preventable tragedy. Just a reminder to please be careful with people.   Maybe don’t make them apologize for feeling engulfing pain…my mum loved this show. She would often be a little bit bummed out if I Facetimed her while while she was watching it, even though she was always so excited to hear from me. This did not need to happen. This man did not need to feel so devastated and alone.”

Robin Windsors death: Kate Beckinsale says it was preventable tragedy

According to the BBC, the jury foreperson said he had suffered a “mental health deterioration which in turn led him to take his own life”, with the probable causes being “an accumulation of many attributes to depression”.

Robin Windsors death: Kate Beckinsale says it was preventable tragedy

They said: “Robin Jamie Windsor suffered from childhood trauma, he was vulnerable to rejection both emotionally and professionally.

“We also agree that loneliness, the lack of emotional maturity, the pressure of mounting debts, the lack of consistent mental health care and support and recurring heartache are all contributing factors of Robin Jamie Windsor’s mental health deterioration which in turn led him to take his own life.”

In a statement, the Windsor family said: “It is with profound sadness that we acknowledge that Robin took his own life. As a family, together with Robin’s close friends, we can now begin to move forward and attempt, over time, to rebuild our lives.

“We wish to express sincere gratitude to everyone who has shown us kindness, compassion and support throughout the long and difficult period since Robin’s passing.

“Thank you to everyone who has remembered Robin and marked his life with such love.”

A former New Jersey high school teacher who groomed two of her students before sexually assaulting them, including at her family’s bagel shop, was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in prison, prosecutors said.

Julie Rizzitello, 37, who taught at Wall High School in Wall Township, was sentenced during a hearing in Monmouth County Superior Court, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.

Judge Jill G. O’Malley ordered that she serve 10 years in state prison, be placed on parole supervision for life, register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law, which requires certain offenders to register with law enforcement, have no contact with the victims and permanently forfeit her teaching position.

Rizzitello had pleaded guilty in September to two counts of second-degree sexual assault stemming from crimes in 2017 and 2024.

Prosecutors said the sexual acts took place at Rizzitello’s home in Brick, inside a vehicle in a Wall Township parking lot and at a Belmar bagel shop owned by her family, where both victims worked at her suggestion.

An investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Bureau and Wall Township police found that Rizzitello met one victim as a freshman and the other as a junior at the high school. Authorities said she asked to spend time alone with the teens and developed a friendly relationship before escalating to sexual activity over several months.

While the investigation was ongoing, Rizzitello contacted both victims and asked them to delete evidence of the crimes from their electronic devices, authorities said.

Police arrested Rizzitello without incident in July 2024 after a district employee notified them of her relationship with a student, according to the Coast Star.

The incidents involving the first victim took place in May and June 2024, according to the outlet, citing a police arrest warrant.

Rizzitello and the student, who had turned 18, had sexual contact in his car in Brick in May 2024, NJ.com reported, citing an affidavit of probable cause. They also met at other locations, and she sent him nude photos, officials said.

After her arrest, a second victim came forward and told investigators he and Rizzitello had intercourse in November 2017 and January 2018 at her residence in Brick Township, according to the Coast Star, citing an affidavit of probable cause. The victim was 17 at the time. Pictures and text messages corroborated his account, the outlet reported.

In imposing the sentence on Wednesday, O’Malley denied a defense request to reduce the prison term to five years, referencing a victim impact statement read aloud in court, according to prosecutors.

“These crimes were not isolated incidents constituting moments of poor judgment; they were textbook cases of grooming, involving a defendant who repeatedly leveraged tactics of isolation, manipulation, and control for the sake of her own selfish purposes,” Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago said. “The egregious nature of the conduct was further compounded by the plain fact that the emotional and psychological harm she inflicted came at the expense of two of the very same young minds she had been entrusted to develop and nurture.”

Wall Township Police Chief Sean O’Halloran praised the victims for coming forward.

“I want to commend the courage of those who came forward to report these crimes. It is never easy to speak up, especially when the offender is someone in a position of trust,” O’Halloran said.

Rachel Zoe shares update on her divorce from Rodger Berman

Rachel Zoe has opened up about her ongoing divorce from her estranged husband, Rodger Berman.

For those unaware, the well-known American fashion designer and Berman, who tied the knot in 1996, decided to part ways in September 2024 after 26 years of marriage.

However, the couple, who share two sons, Skyler Morrison Berman and Kaius Jagger Berman, filed for divorce in July 2025 due to irreconcilable differences and have almost completed negotiation.

In a joint Instagram post to announce their separation, Zoe and Berman said, “After 33 years together and 26 years married, Rodger and I have come to the mutual decision to end our marriage.”

“We are incredibly proud of the loving family we have created and our countless memories together.”

“Our number one priority has been and will always be our children. We are committed to coparent our boys and to continue to work together within the many businesses we share. We ask for privacy during this time as we navigate this new chapter,” the statement concluded.

On the Thursday, February 12 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Zoe was inquired about her divorce settlement, to which she said, “No, but it will be soon. It is [going amicably] because ultimately we want what’s best for the kids, right?”

In her September 2024 interview with Us Weekly, the mother of two stated, “I’m really peaceful and I’m peaceful because my kids are good.”

“They’re really, really great, and that’s kind of all I can ask or dream of. For now, they’re incredible and we’re going about their happy, everyday lives. That’s honestly, as a parent, all you want, right?” Zoe quipped at that time.

Kim Kardashian officially takes major step in romance with new boyfriend Lewis Hamilton

For Kim Kardashian, the sources, say for now, the focus is family first.

US reality TV star Kim Kardashian has officially introduced her children North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm to new boyfriend Lewis Hamilton.

This has been claimed by entertainment expert Rob Shuter in his substack.

The insider told the expert Kim Kardashian’s romance with Lewis has just passed a major milestone.

He also dubbed Kim Kardashian’s move “so far, it’s a win”.

The insider tells Rob, “The kids like him. They really do. Lewis is calm, respectful, and very present. That matters.”

He claimed Hamilton has spent time around Kim’s four children in low-key, carefully managed settings — no pressure, no paparazzi moments, no forcing bonds.

“He’s not trying to be their dad,” the insider explains. “He’s just showing up.”

Moreover, the friends of Kim have said the reality TV star is moving cautiously — prioritizing stability after years of public turbulence.

“She won’t risk her kids’ trust for anyone,” the insider notes.

The source went on saying and then there is Kim’s mother/manager Kris Jenner — who is, unsurprisingly, fully on board.

“Kris approves,” a source laughs. “And yes, she’s already thinking big.”

For Kim Kardashian, the sources, say for now, the focus is family first.

But if the kids are happy — and Kris is smiling — this relationship is clearly heading into the fast lane.

Adam Oumiddoch decommits from St. John's, reopens recruitment

Top-40 senior Adam Oumiddoch decommitted from St. John’s and reopened his recruitment, he announced Tuesday.

Oumiddoch, ranked No. 39 by ESPN, initially committed to the Red Storm in November, with the program announcing his arrival during the early signing period. He was the lone member of St. John’s 2026 recruiting class.

“I’m thankful to Coach Pitino, Coach Masiello, and everyone at St. John’s for the opportunity and belief they showed in me,” Oumiddoch wrote on social media. “New York City and the chance to play at Madison Square Garden is something every kid dreams about.

“After a lot of reflection and conversations with my family, I’ve decided to step back and reopen my recruitment.

“This wasn’t an easy decision and it comes with a great deal of respect for the St. John’s program. I appreciate the support and look forward to what’s next.”

A 6-foot-6 small forward who plays for Overtime Elite, Oumiddoch was one of the top performers on the Adidas 3SSB circuit last spring and summer. He averaged 17.4 points and 7.4 rebounds for Wildcat Select, shooting 44% from 3-point range.

Oumiddoch then averaged 28.2 points on the Overtime Elite circuit, shooting nearly 39% from 3.

When Oumiddoch committed to St. John’s, he chose the Red Storm over Illinois, Villanova, Oregon and LSU.

Former NHL star P.K. Subban dismissed criticism aimed at hockey legend Wayne Gretzky for his association with President Donald Trump earlier this month.

Gretzky was spotted at Trump’s inauguration in January 2025 as the U.S. president took office for his second term. In 2024, Trump teased Canada with the possibility of naming “The Great One” the governor of the “51st state.”

Trump’s poking of Canada caused heightened tensions between the two countries before the president later backed off and called Gretzky a “free agent.”

The heightened tensions fueled intense competition between the U.S. and Canada hockey teams at the 4 Nations Face-Off in 2025 and many expect it to carry over into the Winter Olympics should the two teams meet this month.

Subban defended Gretzky’s relationship with Trump against critics in an interview with the Toronto Sun.

“I’d like to know what they’ve contributed to the country and what they’ve contributed to the game of hockey,” he told the outlet. “We’re in an opinion-based world; everyone has an opinion and that’s great. But my job isn’t to listen to everyone’s opinion … Wayne’s paid his dues.

US OLYMPIC SKATING STARS CONSIDERING APPEAL OF JUDGE’S SCORING THAT DENIED THEM GOLD

“He’s been in the trenches. He went to Nagano. He’s put together Hockey Canada. He’s played for Hockey Canada. He’s represented the country. He’s represented the league. He’s done it all. I’m sorry for people who feel (he betrayed Canada). So I would say this, ‘You have zero credibility to comment on Wayne Gretzky and the decisions he makes.’”

Subban suggested the back and forth between Trump and Canadian leaders was why the 4 Nations Face-Off became a rousing success.

“Just him talking about it … led to a whole bunch of people asking, ‘Why is Trump talking about this hockey game?’” he told the Toronto Sun. “That’s how sensitive of a time it was, and that’s how influential the president and the prime minister are … I didn’t imagine how big the game could get or having world leaders involved in a tournament like that … But it changed the trajectory of the game … It would be cool to watch (the documentary) with Don Cherry and get his two cents on it.”

Meet Aditya Pandya: 17-year-old becomes India’s youngest analogue astronaut who lived, designed, and tested a Moon-like habitat | - The Times of India

Aditya Pandya, at the age of 17, achieved something most adults would dream of. He became India’s youngest male analogue astronaut after completing a simulated lunar habitat mission in Dholavira. A teenager, living inside a container-based habitat for eight days, cut off from the outside world, following strict mission rules. And on top of that, he helped design the technology keeping the crew alive. Sensors, IoT systems, and a digital twin of the habitat. He reportedly worked on all of them. Experts say this dual role of engineer and astronaut is rare, even for professionals. For India’s space ambitions, it feels like a glimpse of the future. Young minds are already shaping exploration.

Aditya Pandya: A 17-year-old boy becomes India’s youngest analogue astronaut

Aditya Pandya is a science enthusiast with astronomy as his passion. He defines his long-term goals in his LinkedIn profile as to mix science with entrepreneurship and skill-based learning. This embarks him as India’s youngest analogue astronaut, as reported by ANI. What makes Aditya stand out is that he wasn’t just a crew member. He reportedly spent six months developing hardware and IoT solutions that powered the habitat. Biometric tools, monitoring systems, and safety sensors, all designed by him. Some parts were 3D-printed. The digital twin allowed mission control to track performance in real time. Experts say few analogue astronauts get to test their own designs in a live mission. And he reportedly thrived under pressure, with people watching might have thought he was doing the work of a whole engineering team.

Aditya Pandya’s educational background

Aditya completed his 10+2 in PCM and has been deeply involved in science ever since. He’s passionate about astronomy, robotics, and practical learning. Beyond academics, he focuses on skill-based education rather than traditional degrees. He did his schooling at Asia English School with enthusiasm and a deep knowledge of astronomy. Reportedly organised multiple stargazing events and volunteered himself in the Blind People Association Ahemdabad. He further studied Generative Artificial Intelligence from the Indian Institute of Management, certifying data-driven business decision making, driving innovation, and empowering business growth. In addition, he also pursued BTech from the Institute of Advanced Research, Gandhinagar, in Computer Engineering.

Aditya Pandya’s experiences

Aditya co-founded IDEN Cards and INNOGINE, leading technology development, IoT integration, and skill-based learning initiatives. He has also volunteered to help create assistive technology for visually impaired people. With experience in public speaking, social media science communication, and robotics, he’s building a foundation for entrepreneurship. Experts say his blend of engineering, leadership, and communication is rare for someone under 18. He’s reportedly already making a mark in India’s space research community.

Aditya Pandya’s lunar habitat mission

The mission took place in the white plains of Dholavira, Kutch. Four crew members, including 17-year-old Aditya Pandya, lived together inside a container for eight days. With no outside contact and limited resources. The crew did experiments daily. They practised “spacewalks” and followed strict routines. They tested systems for reliability. They studied how humans handle isolation. Aditya’s role made it special. He didn’t just live there. He reportedly helped build the sensors, biometric monitors, and hardware keeping the habitat running. So he was both an engineer and an astronaut. Experts say analogue missions like this help understand humans, machines, and teamwork under pressure.

Rivian tops fourth-quarter expectations, targets significant production increase

Rivian tops fourth-quarter expectations, targets significant production increase

Rivian Automotive on Thursday beat Wall Street’s fourth-quarter expectations and said it’s targeting a significant increase in vehicle deliveries this year, but the automaker also cautioned that it will continue losing money as it launches its crucial R2 next-generation vehicle.

Rivian’s 2026 guidance includes increasing vehicle deliveries to between 62,000 and 67,000 units, which would be up by 47% to 59% compared with 2025. That increase is expected to be assisted by the launch of the R2 SUV during the second quarter.

Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe told CNBC’s Phil LeBeau on Thursday that the R2 is expected to be the “majority of the volume” of the business by the end of 2027, as it ramps up production at its sole factory in Normal, Illinois.

The electric vehicle maker also said it expects adjusted pre-tax losses for 2026 of between $1.8 billion and $2.1 billion and capital expenditures between $1.95 billion and $2.05 billion. That compares with nearly $2.1 billion in adjusted pre-tax losses and $1.7 billion in capital expenditures last year.

Scaringe described 2025 to investors Thursday as a “foundational year” for Rivian, while saying 2026 will mark “an inflection point” for the company.

Shares of Rivian were up more than 20% during premarket trading Friday after closing at $14, down roughly 5%.

Why the R2 could be Rivian's key to profitability

Here’s how the company performed in the fourth quarter compared with average estimates compiled by LSEG:

  • Loss per share: 54 cents adjusted vs. a loss of 68 cents expected
  • Revenue: $1.29 billion vs. $1.26 billion expected

Rivian’s full-year 2025 revenue, including $1.7 billion during the fourth quarter, was up 8% compared with $4.97 billion in 2024.

The company was able to achieve its first annual gross profit, which is closely watched by investors, of $144 million in 2025, including $120 million during the fourth quarter. That was driven by its software and services joint venture with Volkswagen offsetting $432 million in losses for its automotive business last year.

This year’s gross profit may not be as fruitful, with Rivian CFO Claire McDonough describing it as a “transition year” as it ramps up R2 production.

Investors view gross profit as a key indicator of a business’s profitability before operating expenses, interest and taxes.

Rivian’s net loss last year was $3.6 billion, an improvement from a loss of $4.75 billion in 2024. That includes an $804 million loss during the fourth quarter, accelerated by a decrease in earnings from the sale of regulatory credits, which was expected after changes by the Trump administration to federal fuel economy and emissions standards.

Rivian ended the fourth quarter with $6.59 billion in total liquidity, including nearly $6.1 billion in cash, cash equivalents, and short-term investments.

It’s needed capital for Rivian. This year is a crucial one for the automaker as it attempts to deliver on promises of technological advancements and improved profitability with the R2.

The roughly $45,000 midsize vehicle, per Rivian, is expected to cut build material costs in half, reduce production complexity and significantly grow demand and sales.

Rivian said the R2 is expected to initially be produced by one plant shift, followed by a second shift by the end of this year. The company said additional R2 details by model such as pricing, options and more will be available on March 12.

Rivian has made important strides with its first-generation R1 pickup and SUV, but the market for such pricey EVs, which both start in the $70,000s, has slowed. It also continues to produce an all-electric delivery van, historically purchased by its largest shareholder, Amazon.
