Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen have welcomed their first child.
The couple announced the birth of their daughter Thursday via Steinfeld’s Substack newsletter Beau Society.
“Our baby girl has arrived!!” they wrote in the post. “We’re feeling incredibly grateful and blessed and savouring these early moments. Thank you so much for the love and well wishes.”
The note is signed “Love, Hailee and Josh.”
Steinfeld, 29, notably skipped the mid-March Oscars ceremony as her due date approached. The Sinners actor did, however, make a red carpet appearance at the 2026 Golden Globes in January, which she attended alone as her Buffalo Bills star husband took on the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Steinfeld and Allen — who married in May 2025 after two years of dating —, mostly kept the pregnancy private, with the baby’s gender only being revealed after the birth.
However, the “Starving” singer occasionally shared details of her experience on Beau Society, where she regularly posts life updates and musings.
“This week, I was sitting on the couch in my family room, and the reality that our little family is about to grow really started to settle in,” Steinfeld wrote in the message shared February 20. “Of course, I have all the to-do lists (which you know I love), and I’ve been busy with research and the general life reorganization that happens when you’re about to have a baby.”
She continued: “But the most profound and grounding part of getting ready for this baby has been the introspective side of it: the quiet conversations I’m having with myself almost every day. Sometimes I find myself asking big, lofty questions (what am I going to be like as a mom?) or having vivid daydreams of what our life is about to look like when the three of us are cuddled up in the nursery together.
“While tuning in, I’ve experienced this surreal, full-body awareness that our world is about to expand in beautiful ways. We’re getting ready to meet someone we already love so much,” she said.
Allen, 29, shared his excitement for fatherhood at a press conference in January, saying: “It’s something that I will take with great pride. And we’re going to have to figure things out on the go, just like anything else.”
He added, “But this is the most important thing I’ll ever be in my life, being a dad. And I know I love being a football player, and I love being a quarterback for the Buffalo Bills. But I’m looking forward to this one.”
Allen and Steinfeld announced that their family was expanding with a video shared in December. The footage showed the actor wearing a sweatshirt with the word “mother” on it as she showed off her baby bump while posing in the snow with her husband.
