Burger King is testing a new lineup of slider-sized burgers in two U.S. cities, as the thriving fast-food chain continues to refresh its menu and attract customers seeking more variety and flexible meal options.
The King Size Sliders will be tested in Columbus, Ohio, and Portland, Oregon, for a limited-time test beginning April 14 and ending May 4, Burger King announced Wednesday. Potential for a nationwide rollout will depend on customer response and operational performance in the cities, according to the company.
The sliders will be offered in boxes of either two or six, allowing customers to mix and match among three varieties. The options include a Deluxe Slider with lettuce, tomato, pickles and burger aioli, a Steakhouse Bacon Slider topped with Swiss cheese, bacon, crispy onions and peppercorn sauce and a Bacon & Cheese Slider featuring American cheese, bacon and aioli.
Each slider features a smaller bun but still delivers Burger King’s signature flame-grilled beef patty. Pricing has yet to be finalized, the company said.
Burger King says the sliders are meant to be versatile, so customers can grab a couple as a quick snack or turn them into a full meal, giving them more ways to mix, match and customize without being locked into one big sandwich.

The upcoming tests come just months after Burger King rolled out its first major Whopper update in nearly a decade, changes driven by customer feedback. The updates include a softer, better-tasting sesame seed bun, an improved mayonnaise recipe and new box packaging instead of the traditional wrapper.
Toppings have also been upgraded, with each Whopper now stacked with more freshly cut onions and tomatoes, crisp lettuce and pickles. Despite these changes, the signature quarter-pound flame-grilled beef patty remains unchanged.
The company says that focus on customer listening has become central to the chain’s turnaround, guiding everything from menu upgrades to restaurant remodels as it leans into a more “guest-led” approach.
That strategy has helped fuel a steady turnaround, with improvements across operations, and customer satisfaction around food quality and order accuracy now at their highest levels since 2022.
Last week, Burger King annouced it is looking to hire up to 60,000 workers across its U.S. restaurant system, with openings ranging from hourly crew members to salaried management roles, to reach more customers.
“We’ve done the important work of strengthening our operations, modernizing our restaurants, and listening to our Guests, and it’s paying off,” Tom Curtis, President of Burger King U.S. & Canada, said in a statement.
“Now we need great people to help us keep that momentum going – people who are passionate, hardworking, and genuinely friendly. A warm welcome goes a long way, and the Team Members who bring that energy every day are at the heart of what makes the Burger King experience special,” he added.
