Brandi Glanville has shared that she spent $200,000 to get to the root of her facial disfigurement saga.
Glanville, 53, first revealed in December 2024 that she had a suspected parasite on her face and paid $70,000 for treatment. Her health challenges continued in the year that followed, with Botched co-host Dr. Terry Dubrow telling her in January 2025 that her facial disfigurement was actually from “an infectious process or a foreign body reaction to something she’s had injected.”
Earlier this month, she revealed that after undergoing further testing, she learned that the parasite was caused by a rupture of her decade-old breast implants.
The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star reflected on the intense and expensive health journey during Thursday’s episode of the I Do, Part 2 podcast. She said that about three years ago, she started to feel sick, with pain in her neck, head and joints. She also experienced brain fog.
After consulting 21 doctors, she still didn’t have answers. “I’m telling you, $200,000,” Glanville said about how much money she spent on her search for a diagnosis. “I had insurance … but let’s just say it sucks.
“I was paying out of pocket to see specialists, infectious disease doctors, you know, rheumatologists. Every doctor you can think of, I saw.”
According to Glanville, none of her doctors suggested that her symptoms, including the facial disfigurement, were due to her breast implants, since her mammograms were coming back normal.
However, after speaking to her manager, who had “fifteen breast and implant surgeries,” she realized she needed to get a sonogram done. During that imaging procedure, she realized how damaged her right breast implant was, which was making her sick.
Earlier this month, Glanville — who starred on RHOBH from 2011-2016 and reappeared from 2019-2020 — did a segment with Inside Edition where she underwent surgery to get the implants removed. “I had a complete rupture on the right,” she told the outlet. “Silicone was in all of my lymph nodes. I’m feeling petrified.”
Her plastic surgeon, Dr. Ariel Ourian, also spoke about the procedure, calling her case “really complicated.”
“It is torn, it is ripped, and this is actually much worse than I had expected,” he said of Glanville’s right implant, while noting that the second implant was intact. “I think she’s going to be really happy with putting in fresh, new implants that have a lower risk of rupture.”
A week later, Glanville told Inside Edition she was already feeling better. “I may have been isolated for three years, it’s been hell,” she said. “But now I want to live my life again. I’m ready.”
