Wendy Williams’ latest medical test results could change everything amid his conservatorship battle.
Nearly two years after her team announced that she had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, a new round of medical tests has reportedly found that the beloved former talk show host does not have the disease, according to TMZ.
Sources told the outlet on November 11 that Williams recently underwent a comprehensive evaluation by a top New York neurologist, whose findings directly contradict her previous diagnosis. The updated results were reportedly sent to Williams’ legal team late last month, and her lawyers are expected to file court documents in hopes of using the new information to end her ongoing guardianship.
Williams, 61, was publicly diagnosed in February 2024 with both frontotemporal dementia and aphasia, conditions that impact speech, memory, and behaviour. Her team said at the time that she had begun to “lose words” and “act erratically,” prompting further testing.
The former Wendy Williams Show host, who also suffers from Graves’ disease and lymphedema, has been under a court-ordered guardianship since 2022.
The situation has only grown more complicated in recent months. Williams’ ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, filed a $250 million lawsuit earlier this year calling for the guardianship to end, alleging it has “become a weapon, not a shield.” He further claimed Williams is being “confined against her will” at an assisted living facility with limited contact with loved ones.
Now, with the new medical findings challenging the original diagnosis, Williams’ legal team is reportedly preparing to push for a path toward her regaining full control of her life.
