Lionel Richie is “doing great” after undergoing a heart procedure.
The Hello crooner recently “underwent a common procedure for atrial fibrillation,” his representative said in a statement shared with People magazine.
“Lionel underwent a common procedure for atrial fibrillation. The doctor said everything went perfectly,” Lionel’s rep said.
“Lionel is doing great but will take some time off and will be back on stage soon,” a spokesperson added.
The 77-year-old musician was scheduled to perform in San Francisco, Chicago, and Columbus in the next two weeks.
However, these concerts have now been postponed as Lionel focuses on his health.
For those unaware, the All Night Long hitmaker rushed to the hospital in late August after he started feeling unwell during a show in St Louis, Missouri.
Lionel’s children were deeply concerned about their father and were advising him at the time to slow down his work pace.
“His daughters, especially, really want him to slow down because he means so much to them, he has always been there for them, he has been like a Super Dad,” a source told the Daily Mail.
“They have worried that Lionel was working too hard with this new tour on the heels of eight seasons of American Idol, which is a super demanding job,” a tipster added.
Lionel is a father to two daughters, Nicole and Sofia, and a son, Miles.
