Charles Spencer has once again addressed rumours of his relationship with Diana, especially one that claimed he did not allow her a home after her divorce.
The topic came out during his chat with People magazine, just a day before Swan Song was set to release.
At first the admissions included his ‘regrets’ about the relationship he ended on with the People’s Princess and how he would “fight some battles for her quietly” but then he also cleared the air on one of the biggest greivenies that people are throwing against him.
As part of it he said, “one of the things people are throwing at me totally wrongly is that I wouldn’t give her a home.”
In fact he admits “when she was divorced, she did ask me for the Garden House at the back of the park . . . Diana had loved it because our sister Jane lived there with her children, and that was perfect for them.”
“But then the local police went around there with me and they said, they just couldn’t protect William and Harry…” so “she could not have lived at the garden house,” he admitted. “It was not a viable option.”
