Hayden Panettiere is being remembered by her “best friend” and Orange Is the New Black star Ruby Rose.
The 40-year-old Netflix star, known for playing Batwoman in the series, caught up in a chat with Entertainment Tonight and got emotional when asked about her pal Hayden, who passed away on August 16 at the age of 36.
Calling the late Nashville star her close friend, Rose revealed that they used to talk “every day for five years.”
Fighting back her tears, she recalled, “I didn’t even think we were going to be friends.
“I didn’t know if I wanted to have any celebrity friends, because I didn’t have a great experience with the industry.”
Rose then went on to look back on their meeting, she said, “I saw her, she saw me, and I just remember thinking, ‘Oh, no.’ And then she ran up anyway and was like, ‘Hey, I’m Hayden. Can we go talk somewhere? We’ve got a lot in common.’ I just laughed.”
After the twosome realized they have mutual interest in multiple things, they quickly became friends.
And throughout their five-year friendship, they never skipped taking each other’s updates.
Rose added, “Hayden, all that she ever wanted was to have her story told her way, on her terms.”
It is pertinent to mention that the cause of Hayden’s sudden death has not been identified amid the ongoing investigation into her death.
For those unversed, Hayden was found unconscious at her residence in Greenville, South Carolina.
Her rep said in a recent statement, “As reported yesterday by the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, Hayden’s death remains under investigation pending the completion of toxicology results, despite reports from some outlets stating otherwise.”
The spokesperson continued, “Recent reports attributed to unnamed sources are unverified hearsay and have attributed to conflicting information that continues to circulate.”
