The 72-year-old John Malkovich’s performance in “Wild Horse Nine” is the talk of the Toronto International Film Festival for good reason: His is easily one of the most memorable I’ve seen this year.
The movie, from writer and director Martin McDonagh (“In Bruges,” “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri,” “The Banshees of Inisherin”), follows a pair of CIA hit men — Malkovich and Sam Rockwell — on a vacation to Easter Island in 1973, just before the coup in Chile.
