Kid Cudi thanks Kanye West for ‘believing in him’

Kanye West has had a long-term influence on Kid Cudi’s career, and the latter is acknowledging it in his latest social media post.

Looking back at his iconic album, A Kid Named Cudi, he credited Ye, among others, as a key influence on the album’s creation.

“My message was simple: help young people not feel alone and bring shelter for those that were lost,” he wrote in the post’s caption.

Naming all of them together, Cuid penned, “I want to thank Plain Pat, Emile, Dot, and Kanye. With out you 4, things would not have gone the way they did.”

He continued, “You believed in me. You saw something in me I don’t think I even noticed in myself at first.”

“You’re my brothers, and I love y’all endlessly. I hope you all know we did something no one else has been able to do since, and that’s change the whole game for the better,” the musician added.

Cudi’s reverence for West is no news. But in recent years the pair went through a tumultuous relationship.

Pete Davidson, for example.

Cudi remained friends with the comedian, who was dating the Chicago rapper’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian at the time.

In return, he faced his mentor’s ire and continued to mock him in public.

But in his recent shows in Chicago, Ye surprisingly brought out Cudi, and the two artists performed together on stage.
