Lady Gaga has officially stepped into the role she once described as her “next starring role.”
The Born This Way hitmaker and fiancé Michael Polansky are officially parents, with Page Six confirming on Friday that the couple have welcomed their first child together.
The new family of three was photographed taking a casual walk in Northern California on Thursday, with the singer seen cradling their newborn close to her chest.
For someone, who has spent years talking about wanting children, the moment feels like a long-awaited plot twist in Gaga’s life.
“I would like to do many things,” she said on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert in 2025. “All of these things are open. But, what I really want is to be a mom. That’s my next starring role, I hope.”
By November that year, Gaga was even more direct, telling Rolling Stone, “Being a mom is the thing I want the most.”
She also called Polansky “gonna be a beautiful father” and said they were “really excited” about starting a family.
The Bad Romnce crooner, 40, has been remarkably open about the idea of motherhood, admitting she asked Polansky about marriage and kids on their very first date.
“I really want to be a mom,” she later told Access Hollywood, calling motherhood “the greatest vision” she’s had.
But the singer also knew becoming a parent would mean making room for someone besides herself.
“The thing that’s the most important to me is to not force my children to live a life that they are not choosing,” she told the New York Times.
Earlier in 2020, she was already fascinated by motherhood – and apparently had the perfect name for her home.
“Isn’t it incredible what we can do? We can hold a human inside and grow it,” she told InStyle. “Then it comes out, and it’s our job to keep it alive.”
Then came the Gaga touch: “It’s so funny, everyone works out of my house every day. When they come in, I always say, ‘Welcome to the Womb!’”
