Kate Hudson is getting candid about why she still hasn’t married fiancé Danny Fujikawa, five years after he proposed.
On a recent episode of her podcast Sibling Revelry with brother Oliver Hudson, Kate admitted that the size of her family is one of her biggest hurdles when it comes to wedding planning.
“I still am not married. I’m just engaged, and I keep thinking about [the] wedding, you know? Like, what are we going to do?” Kate, 47, said on Tuesday.
While discussing guests Joey and Hunter King’s own destination weddings, Kate explained that she and Fujikawa have gone back and forth on guest lists several times.
“And then every time we start thinking about it, like, who we have to invite, Danny’s like, ‘I just want a small wedding.’ I’m like, ‘Our family alone is, like, 50 people.’”
The conversation also touched on wedding costs, with Joey mentioning her flowers were expensive. That prompted Kate to admit that cost is part of why she’s hesitant to get married at all, joking that she’d rather keep things simple with just chips and salsa instead of a big affair.
Kate and Fujikawa got engaged in September 2021 after dating since December 2016. They share a daughter, Rani Rose, and Kate is also mom to two sons from previous relationships.
She’s previously said she’d want a destination wedding that only the most committed guests would make the effort to attend.
