Wolverhampton train station to mark World Suicide Prevention Day

A five-day programme activities has begun at Wolverhampton’s railway station to support people’s mental health and wellbeing.

Wellbeing Week has been timed to coincide with Thursday’s World Suicide Prevention Day and is a collaboration between West Midlands Railway and Rethink Mental Illness.

The event is being held at The Hub at the station, which opened in May last year to help people in crisis, and activities include poetry performances, gardening workshops, art and music.

Visitors would be offered personal support and information, West Midlands Railway said while Kirsten Rose from Rethink Mental Illness said it was about raising awareness and normalising conversations about mental health.
