When Tom Cruise posted the clip announcing the sequel of Days of Thunder, it broke the internet.
Standing alongside Anne Hathaway and a stock car, the megastar gave a brief introduction about the movie.
But where was the race track behind them?
According to TMZ, it was Daytona International Speedway.
It is a key NASCAR venue, where Cruise also delivered a stunning speech in front of executives and explained how the sequel is not only about racing.
Instead, he said it is about the broader NASCAR community.
Meanwhile, along with starring, the Mission Impossible star is also set to produce alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and Tommy Harper.
Targeting IMAX specifically, the Days of Thunder sequel will be directed by Jonathan Levine, and Will Staples will pen the screenplay.
Meanwhile, Hathaway’s return has sparked intrigue among fans, as she presumably isn’t playing a simple love interest; instead, her character’s brief description suggests she’ll be thrown straight into the adrenaline-rushing racing world.
Previously, Nicole Kidman had starred in the original movie, marking her first on-screen pairing with Cruise.
Six months after Days of Thunder, both of them crossed the aisle.
However, it is unclear whether Nicole will return for the second instalment.
Meanwhile, the Days of Thunder sequel is expected to be released in theatres on June 2, 2028.
