Matt Damon is seemingly concerned about his former girlfriend, Minnie Driver, following her horrible car crash in France.
Earlier this month, the 56-year-old British-American actress and singer had been involved in a car crash in France earlier this month, which left her with a sprained neck and other injuries. She was with a friend of hers when their vehicle collided with another that was supposedly speeding through an intersection on a small road.
Taking to her Instagram from her residence in London, Driver posted a clip, saying, “I got into a really bad car accident a few days ago with my friend Ben, and we somehow walked out of it.”
“Well, we didn’t walk out of it. We crawled out of it. But we did get out of it alive. I’ve got a sprained neck, and I’m really in shock and sort of cry all the time, but I’m going to heal,” she recalled.
Following the harrowing incident, an insider told Radar Online that Damon was really worried about Driver, whom he dated for a year after they worked together in the 1997 American drama film Good Will Hunting.
The source said, “Minnie is so well respected by the acting community in Los Angeles. She’s always been so down to earth and genuinely good. She’s still in touch with almost everyone she’s ever worked with, and Matt is on that list.”
“That wasn’t always the case, but they are very good friends these days. She’s even become friendly with his wife, so naturally when Matt heard she’d been in this horrible car crash, he got in touch to check on her,” they revealed, referring to his wife Luciana Barroso.
Damon has a good connection with sports medicine doctors and the best physiotherapists, and he forced The Phantom of the Opera actress to get in touch with them to speed up her recovery.
It is pertinent to mention that Minnie Driver found Matt Damon’s support and genuine concern “very touching,” as her accident was “such a horribly close call.”
