Former NBA centre Enes Kanter Freedom was tossed off the basketball court during Sunday night’s game between Indiana and Chicago.
The fiery clash happened in the late third quarter following after Kanter was confronted by Sky guard Natasha Cloud at the Wintrust Arena, Chicago.
Freedom was seated at the baseline area, wearing a shirt that read “WOMAN noun. adult human female.”
After Cloud scored in the paint, with 1:22 minutes left in the third quarter, she then turned towards Kanter.
The confrontation escalated when the Fever star, Cloud, 34, started screaming and pointing at Kanter, 34, as she moved toward him.
The broadcast footage showed Kanter standing with his arms out, taking one step onto the court as security and several Sky players moved between them.
Freedom, then, approached the security and tried to explain his case near the basket as he was ejected from the court area.
He whirled around as he walked toward the front lobby, holding his shirt out and egging on the crowd.
The Indiana Fever sensation Caitlin Clark also jumped in the controversy and spoke out.
“I didn’t see it, we were talking about the next play in our huddle,” said Caitlin Clark as reported by CBS Sports.
“So I think that’s probably a question for Chicago,” Clark added.
The clash didn’t mark the first time that Kanter and Cloud had a verbal showdown. Back in 2023, they traded posts online after Cloud criticised the U.S. government.
