Meghan Markle’s father Thomas Markle has reacted to the news that Archie and Lilibet are moving to Britain with their parents.
Speaking to the Mail on Sunday, Thomas also revealed that he knew about Meghan and Harry’s plans through media.
Meghan’s father has been left ‘hurt and upset’ over the decision as he fears he may never meet his grandchildren.
He said: “I saw on CNN that they were returning to England. I found out about it at the same time as the rest of the world.
“I’m hurt and upset that she doesn’t give a damn about me, even though I’m in hospital.’
Thomas Markle continued: ‘Meghan used to love me, she was always a daddy’s girl, and now it’s like I don’t exist.
“I have never met my grandchildren, and now they are leaving America.
“One day those kids will ask about their ‘other’ grandfather – the one who isn’t King – the one that Meghan and Harry are apparently ashamed of.”
“I hope they know how much I wanted to meet them.”
Thomas Markle reaction came days after Meghan and Harry plans were revealed that six years after stepping down as working royals, they were moving back to the United Kingdom within weeks.
In a surprise move, Harry, the youngest son of King Charles, and his wife Meghan, “plan to leave the United States by the end of the month to settle in a private, non-royal residence, which is said to be located outside London.”
