Jessica Alba and her 18-year-old daughter, Honor, marked Honor’s upcoming move to Yale University with matching tattoos.
Honor shared the moment on Instagram in July, posting a photo of the two holding hands in a car with the caption, “me x mama.”
Tattoo artist Daniel “Winterstone” Winter, whose past clients include Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus and Matt Damon, gave both women matching designs featuring an eye above an infinity symbol, Alba’s placed on the outside of her forearm, Honor’s on her inner wrist.
Winter captioned his own post about the session: “Matching tattoos with her daughter! What a way to show love with an unforgettable experience! A memory they will share forever!”
The tattoos came shortly after Honor’s 18th birthday in June, which Alba marked with an emotional tribute on Instagram.
“Happy 18th Birthday to my Honor. My sweet girl, my brilliant girl, my shining light… As I reflect on the last 18 years, I can honestly say they have been the most profound of my life. You opened my heart and expanded my understanding of love in ways I never knew were possible.”
Honor’s father, Cash Warren, whose own path to Yale Honor is now following, shared his own tribute, writing, “You have no idea how special it is for me to watch you follow my path to Yale. On the brink of 18, you have already created a new legacy for our family. I have no idea what your future holds, but I cannot wait to watch the movie unfold. I’m buying my popcorn now, and I’ll be front row center cheering you on.”
Speaking to PEOPLE in an interview published August 19, Alba admitted the reality of her eldest child leaving for college hasn’t fully sunk in yet.
“It hasn’t really hit me personally, but I think for any parent, just that milestone, it’s intense. I don’t think you can prepare for it. You just have to tackle it when it happens.”
Honor, who plans to double major in English and Film Studies, will head to New Haven, Connecticut this fall.
Alba shares Honor along with daughter Haven, 15, and son Hayes, 8, with Warren, the two finalized their divorce in March 2026 after 16 years of marriage, and Alba has since moved on with actor Danny Ramirez.
