Soha Ali Khan’s High-Protein Oats Recipe For Vegetarians Is Perfect for A Healthy Breakfast

Soha Ali Khan is giving healthy eating a wholesome twist with a simple, protein-packed vegetarian recipe. For her latest nutritious recipe, the actress shared an easy oats breakfast idea for anyone looking to add more protein to their everyday diet without compromising on taste.

Sharing the recipe on her Instagram handle, Soha addressed one common notion that protein is only for those who go to the gym. “It is essential for all women, and yet many of us Indian women don’t get enough of it,” she wrote, adding that protein helps maintain muscle, strength, bone health, and immunity, as well as healthy aging.

Let’s take a look at Soha Ali Khan’s high-protein oats recipe:

Ingredients

20–25 g rolled oats

25–30 g pea protein powder (1 scoop)

1 tbsp hemp seeds

1 tsp chia seeds

1 tsp freshly ground flaxseed

1 walnut or 2 macadamia nuts, chopped

Small handful of blueberries or strawberries

Cinnamon, to taste

Water or unsweetened nut or plant milk, as needed

Recipe

Soha first added oats and ½ cup of plant milk to a pan and cooked on low heat for 3–5 minutes, until soft. She also shared that plant milk can also be swapped for normal water. She then turned off the heat and let it cool slightly before adding protein powder to avoid clumping. She then slowly stirred in the pea protein powder until smooth and creamy.

For garnishing, Soha added hemp seeds, soaked chia and flax seeds. She topped it off with berries and chopped walnuts and a pinch of cinnamon powder.

Soha highlighted that more protein does not have to mean spending hours in the kitchen trying out complicated recipes. Instead, she prefers simple ingredients and minimal prep recipes that provide her with maximum nourishment.

Previously, the actress also shared the recipe of a simple digestive tea that she likes to have after dinner. To make the tea, Soha used 1 small cinnamon stick, 1 cm fresh ginger, ¼ tsp fennel seeds, and ⅔ basil leaves.

She added all the ingredients to the water and brought it to a boil, then simmered for 5-7 minutes before pouring it into a cup. Soha revealed that she finds the tea comforting after a heavy meal.
