Michelle Rodriguez has voiced her concerns regarding the deaths of young actors after Hayden Panettiere’s sudden death.
For those unaware, Panettiere passed away suddenly at the age of 36 on August 16, 2026. She was found lifeless after cardiac arrest at a residence in Greenville, South Carolina. Police have started an investigation to find out the actual cause of death.
While giving an interview to Variety at a 25th anniversary screening of The Fast and the Furious in Los Angeles on Monday, August 17, Rodriguez said, “I’ve got to tell you, man, I just can’t stand how many young people are leaving us lately.”
She added, “It’s disheartening, and it’s making me think, ‘What’s going on?’ It’s not normal.”
“I don’t want to speculate about anything, but it’s weird. Just in general, the amount and the volume of it since 2010 to now, it’s a lot,” the Resident Evil star stated.
It is pertinent to mention that Rodriguez and Panettiere co-hosted the 2010 World Music Awards. Recalling her hosting time with the Hero actress, she called her a “curious spirit.”
