Diplo has revealed that he welcomed a daughter one year ago, sharing the news during a recent family trip to Peru to celebrate her first birthday.
The DJ recently shared photos from the trip on Instagram and shared some personal reflections from the trip, At one point, he also touched upon the special celebration.
“My daughter celebrated her first birthday with llamas wearing sunglasses…” he shared in the middle of a long caption that he revealed how the trip went.
He is also father to two sons from a previous relationship, as well as another son with a different former partner.
In the post, Diplo explained that he made a point of prioritising the trip despite his demanding schedule, saying he didn’t want to miss out on important family moments again.
He shared that he would rather spend time with his family than continue his usual busy lifestyle, even if it meant losing sleep.
“I always have a lot on. But id rather lose sleep with my family [than] at a club or a rave this summer.. happiness is all just moments we collect and some of them sit at 15,000 feet, listening to a band play Los mirlos on a train to Cusco,” he wrote towards the end of the lengthy caption.
He also shared a touching moment involving his father as well as a story about his son adjusting to the local culture during the trip.
Diplo is set to return to his DJ schedule soon, with upcoming performances beginning in Ibiza later this month, followed by additional shows in Las Vegas, Bali, and Venezuela.
