Kim Scott, the former wife of Detroit rapper Eminem, was sent to jail after multiple bond violations, authorities confirmed on Friday.
The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office said that Scott, 51, is currently being held in custody.
Prosecutors claim that a judge revoked Scott’s bond and agreed to her release if she entered inpatient treatment, according to CBS News.
Scott had pleaded no contest in May to charges of operating while intoxicated (OWI) after she was accused of being impaired when she crashed into a truck earlier this year. Scott was arrested days later for a separate OWI incident.
Scott allegedly failed to appear at her court hearings, which prosecutors told CBS violated her bond terms. A judge subsequently issued bench warrants in June, which were ultimately canceled within a day after Scott was arraigned. Scott is scheduled to return to court on October 14 for a probable cause conference.
Her relationship with Marshall Mathers aka Eminem once again came under discussions on social media after she was sent to jail, with many people holding the rapper responsible for her current condition.
“She had the most abusive husband in recent memory he was literally like Chris Brown. He made a living off of mocking his relationship with his wife,” said an X user commenting on a video of Kim Scott’s appearance before a judge.
Defending the rapper, one user accused her of cheating on Eminem and said the rapper vented in his music.
“It’s funny because he became rich after selling his soul and decided to write songs about her,” said another.
However, Eminem has no record of physically abusing Kim Scott, who cited emotional abuse via lyrics.
The online comparison to Chris Brown, who had pleaded guilty to felony assault, is also inaccurate.
