Matthew McConaughey shares words of wisdom with son Levi after ‘The Lost Bus’ debut

Matthew McConaughey recently lifted the curtain on some words of wisdom he shared with his son, Levi Alves McConaughey, as he is following in the footsteps of his father.

While chatting with E! News for an interview, Matthew told the outlet that he has high hope for his 18-year-old son Levi following his acting debut in The Lost Bus last year.

He said, “You’ve got to be able to deal with rejection, that’s part of it. You’ve got to hopefully love doing it and love the process so much that enough ‘nos’ don’t matter. If not, it’s not for you, because I was taught there’s no ‘help wanted’ signs in Hollywood.”

The 56-year-old American actor revealed that he does not hesitate to take “troubadours and rebels” in order to be successful as an actor, sharing that this is what he clearly guided his son about.

“I just try to push, to say, ‘It’s better to make a fool of yourself and find out,’ than to leave an audition and go, ‘Oh, I had that moment and I hesitated.’ Make a fool of yourself. Fail more. Try and fail more. No one gives as much of a damn as you think they do,” he explained.

It is pertinent to mention that The Lost Bus, a survival drama film directed by Paul Greengras, starred Matthew McConaughey as Kevin McKay and his son, Levi Alves McConaughey as Shaun McKay.
