Taylor Swift has been announced as an inductee at the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, making history as the youngest artist to ever receive the honour.
Following the announcement, the pop superstar, 36, released a letter to be read by the executive director, Mark Ford, at the ceremony.
The Fate of Ophelia hitmaker penned, “From the time I started writing songs as a child, I fixated on Nashville as the perfect place to be, I wanted to learn with and from the best and get to immerse myself in a community of storytellers, and thankfully Nashville turned out to be exactly what I’d dreamed of.”
Swift continued, “A town that validated and prioritised hard work, determination and imagination. Where the writers show up to work every day even when the mysterious muses and the magic don’t. To be honoured by this city I love so much is a beautiful thing, and I’m very grateful.”
Swifties flocked to the comments and celebrated the achievement, writing, “From a kid writing songs in her bedroom to the youngest inductee in Nashville history.. That’s the dream, lived out !!”
Another added, “She has supported the Country Music Hall of Fame by giving the education center. Even though she may not be considered a country singer, ask the people who count in Nashville for their opinions.”
A third chimed in, “Omg I’m sobbing she is make me cry omg I swear she is the best angel in the world her message is full of emotions I’m in tears,” while one declared, “The music industry!!!”
More gushed, “always proud of mama.”
