Newlywed couple Tom Holland and Zendaya have been the talk of the town for quite some time after it was revealed that the pair tied the knot in a private ceremony and their new Spider-Man film has also added fuel to the news.
However, long before the pair fell in love, they were told by people around them that they should not date.
Film producer Amy Pascal said she has warned all of the Marvel stars against dating one another, especially “MJ and Peter,” as the stars playing the characters they “just always fall in love.”
She told the BBC, “Tobey [Maguire] and Kirsten [Dunst] dated, and Andrew [Garfield] and Emma [Stone] — and MJ and Peter just always fall in love. There’s nothing you can do about it.”
Amy mentioned the same thing in another interview with Variety, “I say this to all of them, and no one ever listens to me.”
In a 2021 The New York Times interview, she admitted her warning to stars causes some problems too.
“I took Tom and Zendaya aside, separately, when we first cast them and gave them a lecture. Don’t go there — just don’t. Try not to,” she recalled.
“I gave the same advice to Andrew and Emma. It can just complicate things, you know? And they all ignored me.”
However, things turned out well for Tom and Zendaya in contrast to Tobey and Kirsten and Andrew and Emma’s love story.
