Phoebe Bridgers’ new album drew attention to Paul Mescal and Gracie Abrams.
The album’s title track showcases lyrics that seemingly reference her past rumored engagement with ex-boyfriend Paul Mescal: “I’m supposed to be married, but I called it off.”
Meanwhile, another track, the governor’s waltz, hints at Paul’s current girlfriend, Gracie Abrams: “She can pretend to be me / Since she took my place in my bed, on that stage.”
Previously, in an interview with Variety Fair, when Paul was facing ultimate buzz about his breakup and engagement with Bridgers, the Aftersun star explained how he prefers his private life out of the public eye.
“The temptation still exists to be like, ‘Shut the f— up. This is my life. This is what’s going on. Or this is what’s not going on.’ But moving forward as much as I can, that’s going to be my life that is private,” Phoebe said.
It is pertinent to mention that Phoebe Bridgers and Paul Mescal started dating publicly on December 10, 2021, when Paul posted his selfie with the Motion Sickness hitmaker, and their breakup rumors first surfaced in late 2022, but they never publicly addressed it.
