Meghan Markle’s happy moment turned chaotic, which may support her claims about being bullied online.
On August 4, the Duchess of Sussex turned 45 and celebrated her milestone in an intimate party at Montecito.
She posted a video on her Instagram stories, dressed in a casual fit and dancing to mark a big day surrounded by birthday balloons and a fun tiara.
She was probably recorded by her husband Prince Harry, who said ‘oh dear’ on seeing his wife all happy and cheerful.
However, soon after the release of her video, it was being compared to an old video of Victoria Beckham from her family vacations in Canada in 2024.
An Instagram user shared a video of both celebrities, drawing comparisons between the two.
“Not only did Meghan happily copy Diana’s jumping-into-the-water pose with jewellery, but now she’s happily copying the Beckhams’ dance,” the caption reads.
Some netizens made harsh comments, which Meghan pointed out during her trip to Australia.
In conversation with Australian students on online abuse, she said, “For now, 10 years, every day for 10 years, I have been bullied and attacked. And I was the most trolled person in the entire world.”
Upon the comparison video, a social media user wrote, “She really needs meds and psychiatric help!!!”
Another said, “I’m convinced she’s doing it so she’s mocked and then she cries ‘I’m the most trolled person.'”
But Meghan’s well-wishers came to defend and shared that this is a very common dance called the Electric Slide, created by choreographer Ric Silver.
“The ‘Beckham’s dance’? So they invented the Electric Slide? Does Richard Silver know?” a fan penned.
