‘Frankenstein’ shocks fans with haunting first glimpse

Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein gave fans their first look this week, and the reaction was immediate.
The long-awaited film starred Oscar Isaac as Victor Frankenstein and Jacob Elordi as the Monster, and the first images sparked a wave of praise and excitement online.
The photos were unveiled by Vanity Fair and featured ten striking shots from the set. Jacob Elordi appeared as the unnerving Monster, while Oscar Isaac portrayed the ambitious scientist whose experiment changed both of their fates.
The carousel also revealed other cast members, including Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz, Charles Dance and David Bradley.
One behind-the-scenes image drew attention, showing director Guillermo del Toro speaking with Oscar Isaac beside gruesome cadaver prop.
However, the shot hinted at the dark and unsettling tone the film promised to deliver.
The adaptation reimagined Mary Shelley’s 1818 classic and followed Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant yet prideful scientist who created life but faced devastating consequences for his actions.
Fans flooded the comments with admiration, calling the preview “incredible,” “amazing,” and even “a masterpiece.” One fan wrote, “This looked grotesquely spectacular,” while another remarked, “I can smell the Oscars from Brazil.”
Some viewers also expressed hope that Frankenstein would receive a theatrical release, saying its visuals deserved the big screen rather than a streaming debut.
