Katy Perry loses ‘calm’ after terrifying prop malfunction

Katy Perry broke her silence after experiencing a “terrifying” prop malfunction during her LifeTimes Tour performance in San Francisco.
The 40-year-old singer set the internet abuzz with her recent on-stage incident.
Taking to Instagram Stories, the Last Friday Night artist, addressed the mishap by sharing a photo of her scared reaction to the shocking moment.
She captioned the picture, “Good Night San Fran.”
This comes after a flying butterfly-shaped stage prop suddenly stopped working during her performance at the Chase Centre on Friday, July 18.
In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter), the Fireworks hitmaker is seen performing her track Roar when the prop begins to tilt, causing her to nearly slip from her seat.
Following the malfunction, Perry paused her performance and waved to the audience, signaling that she was fine.
In another clip shared on TikTok, the Dark House singer is seen continuing the lyrics, “Are you going to hear me roar / Louder than a lion…” as the butterfly-shaped prop gradually resumes movement.
Notably, Perry recently experienced a similar malfunction during her performance in Australia on Sunday, June 29.
The Harleys In Hawaii hitmaker is scheduled to perform next on Monday, July 21 in Seattle, with upcoming shows planned across Canada, Europe, and South Africa.
For the unversed, the LifeTimes Tour – in support of her 143 album – began on April 23 and will conclude on December 7.
