Once again, Juneteenth is being commemorated in the D.C. area with parades, festivals and events in museums, parks and neighborhoods. The celebrations, marking June 19, 1865, the day the last enslaved people in Texas were freed, actually began last weekend and continue through Saturday. Many events are free.
