Celebrity nutritionist and content creator Rujuta Diwekar has shared some thoughtful tips tailored for college students. Known for her practical and holistic approach to nutrition, Rujuta took to social media to offer simple yet essential advice focused on improving overall well-being. This time, she emphasised the importance of going back to basics, eating local, seasonal foods and building healthy habits early in life.

Start Your Day With Fresh Fruits

Rujuta Diwekar took to Instagram to share a video aimed towards college students, where she advised them on how to maintain a low-maintenance healthy lifestyle. According to the celebrity nutritionist, the first thing college students need to do every morning is ditch tea or coffee and eat something wholesome. She recommended starting the day with a seasonal fruit like a banana, as they are easily available and affordable. Bananas are loaded with potassium, magnesium, and fibre and provide a boost of energy, regulate digestion, and help reduce bloating. Eating a banana first thing in the morning also stabilises blood sugar levels.

Eat Ghee For Glowing Skin

According to Rujuta, ghee deserves a comeback, especially among young women. Consuming 3-5 teaspoons of ghee daily helps your skin to become patch-free and glow. Ghee is rich in healthy fats and essential vitamins like vitamins A, D, E, and K, which nourish skin from within. Moreover, adding ghee to your meals keeps your energy levels steady and sugar cravings in check.

Dal-Chawal Makes The Perfect Dinner

When it comes to dinner, Rujuta suggested dal chawal to be the perfect choice for college students. This classic comfort food offers a well-balanced combination of protein and carbohydrates, as lentils supply essential amino acids, whereas rice restores the necessary energy for growth. Eating dal chawal at night also helps to soothe the nervous system and improve sleep quality.

Ditch Plastic Bottles

Rujuta highlighted a common issue popular among college students, which is carrying food and water in plastic containers. Plastics may contain harmful chemicals like BPA, which can get into food and drinks, disrupting hormones and affecting health over time. Rujuta advised replacing plastic containers with stainless steel lunch boxes and bottles.
