LALAMUSA: Former prime minister and senior Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said on Monday that the government and state institutions were making sincere efforts for peace.

Speaking to media in Lalamusa, he called for a collaborative approach across party lines to stabilise economy and improve ordinary citizens’ lives. He attended Valima ceremony of the sons of Chaudhry Qamar Zaman Kaira, former advisor to the prime minister on Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, and Chaudhry Tahir Zaman Kaira. He also participated in Nikkah ceremony of the daughter of Chaudhry Sajid Zaman Kaira.

Raja Pervaiz Ashraf stressed the need to address Balochistan’s issues. He urged the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman to approach the matter with the seriousness it deserves.

Commenting on the recent economic developments, he noted that the reduction in electricity prices has brought some relief to public. However, he said more needs to be done. “It is important for the common man to benefit in the current situation. We must work together to save the people from the burden of inflation,” he said.
