Hailey Bieber is opening up about how her “words get twisted” by the public, leaving her in an “uncomfortable” position.
The 29-year-old model recently sat down with Time and talked about feeling “misunderstood” and facing continued public scrutiny for being the wife of pop singer Justin Bieber.
Hailey, whose beauty brand, Rode, is named one of Time100’s Most Influential Companies of 2026, poured her heart out, saying, “Being in this position, in general, there’s a lot of judgment.
”When you’re trying to figure out who you are on such a big scale and in front of so many different people, it feels really restricting to make really normal mistakes or, like, do the wrong thing or say the wrong thing.”
The mom-of-one went on to explain that she feels “really uncomfortable” in interviews because her words “get twisted or things get totally misconstrued.”
This makes her shut down “and not be open with people,” Hailey admitted.
She further noted, “I am obviously in a position where I want to share my life, and I want to be able to be by myself and be open and be exactly who I am.
”It just does feel hard sometimes having every single thing be looked at and picked apart. People create a story for you and it can feel really uncomfortable and bizarre sometimes because I’m like, it’s just not even real.”
And Hailey knows she cannot do much about it because “when people have made up their mind about something and about you, they don’t care what the truth is. They just enjoy believing what they believe.”
So how she copes with it, Hailey added, she just “lives” her life and “continues to move forward.”
It is pertinent to mention that Hailey and Justin Bieber tied the knot back in 2018 and welcomed their son Jack Blue in August 2024.
