Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor’s daughter Hattie has opened up about her career struggles, hitting back at the nepo baby label.
The actress revealed that, at one point, she failed to land a role on the ITV soap after auditioning for it.
Hattie, 22, is the daughter of a soap star mum,63, who has played Sally Metcalfe (nee Webster) on the long-running show for almost 40 years.
Meanwhile, her elder sister Phoebe, 31, is hugely popular for her role as Daphne in Netflix’s Bridgerton.

Although many might assume that the actress has an advantage because of her famous family, Hattie insists that this isn’t the case and that she has to work hard to build her her career, stating: ‘I have to put the time in – it’s down to me.’
Speaking to The Sun, Hattie hit back at people branding her a nepo baby, explaining that despite her mum’s status, she could do little to help her children get their foot in the door.
She said: ‘Me and Phoebe have always had that comment ‘nepo baby’. Everyone’s so quick to say that, but like my mum always said, if she could get herself in a Netflix show, she’d be doing that. She can’t do anything to help us really.Â
‘Maybe she could get us a foot in the door, but ultimately, I have to do the work and I have to put the time in – it’s down to me.’
Hattie’s comments are particularly noteworthy because, despite her mum’s longstanding role on Coronation Street, it wasn’t enough to secure her daughter a spot on the soap, with the blonde beauty failing an audition.
She noted: ‘I would never rule it out – I actually auditioned for Corrie, but I didn’t get it. ‘Imagine if Sally fostered a child and then it was her actual child.’
Meanwhile, Hattie’s biggest role to date was serving as her big sister’s Maid of Honour at her wedding in Provence in August.
Phoebe, 31, tied the knot with her American actor boyfriend Cameron Fuller, 30, at an 18th-century French farmhouse Le Mas des Poiriers.Â
