Russell Brand’s prison hit by emergency as ambulances rush in

Russell Brand’s prison has seen a major emergency response just days after the comedian was sent to jail.

Many ambulances and fire engines arrived at HMP Wandsworth in South London on Saturday morning, leaving people wondering what happened inside.

Three ambulances and two ambulance cars were seen entering the prison, while three fire engines arrived outside. Some firefighters also went inside the building.

The reason for the emergency, however, is not out yet and there are no reports of a fire.

A spokesperson for the London Fire Brigade said crews were called at 9:46am and their work was finished by 10:20am.

The incident came shortly after Brand was found guilty of rape and three sexual assaults on November 5. He was taken to prison after the court hearing and is due to be sentenced on November 9.

Reports say Brand spent his first night in jail praying with a chaplain. He is also being kept in a separate cell because prison staff have concerns about his safety.

His lawyer had asked the judge to let him spend the weekend with his children before sentencing. However, the request was turned down because the judge was worried he might not return to court.

The reason behind the emergency at the prison remains unknown.
