Mel B has been reflecting on how her time with the Spice Girls had a lasting impact it had on her life.
In a recent interview with PEOPLE Magazine, the singer shared that she “loved every single moment” of being part of the iconic group.
Emphasizing that it never felt like a burden, she told the outlet, “There’s not a day where it felt like a drag or a chore.”
She said, “Even if there were things that we came up against — whether it be sexism or whatever — we kind of trampled on that as a group together that supported each other.”
Beyond her music career, Mel B also opened up about her approach to speaking out on personal and social issues.
“I just speak my mind and I speak how I feel,” she explained while noting the importance of using her voice to address topics such as identity, self-acceptance, and abuse awareness.
“You know, whether that be about mixed race women or Black women embracing their hair texture… about having that voice against abuse and knowing how to get out of that relationship and do it safely.”
She remarked in conclusion, “Just being the best that you can be without beating yourself up so much about just embracing who you are, curves, warts and all.”
