While the majority of celebs get the quick pass at the airport while travelling internationally, Machine Gun Kelly’s is not among the lucky ones as his past is still lingering over his head.
As the rapper has a history of drug offenses at the international departure unit in the airport, he is unable get priority security screenings.
The Emo Girl singer revealed on the April 22 episode of Take Flight, “Traveling was difficult because I have a level one narcotics possession or whatever. I got caught with cocaine on the way back from New Zealand last time I was out here.”
MGK, whose real name is Colson Baker, even faced trouble getting an Australian visa and waited for eight years.
The rapper admitted that now he waits like a normal person in a waiting line at airports.
“I still don’t get [TSA] PreCheck or Global Entry or any of that fast stuff in the airport,” MGK shared. “I’m still stuck in lines like normal.”
MGK has been vocal about his sobriety journey, and since his airport ordeal, he has stayed away from drinking alcohol.
He shared on the Dumb Blonde podcast in 2024, “I’m completely sober from everything. I don’t drink anymore. I haven’t drunk since last August.”
MGK explained at the time. “I didn’t tell anybody outside of those closest to me, but I went to rehab right when we got off the European tour last year. That was my first time I ever went to rehab, and man they just gave me so many ways to operate the body and show where this anger is coming from and methods to quell it. I ended up falling into an awareness of what my condition is, and have made peace with it, and it’s a constant tightrope walk.”
