King Charles lets slip golden chance in bad bargain: ‘Don’t wake me up’

King Charles would surely be regretting a decision he had to make months prior to the big news he received from Australia.

The royal family are known for their love of horse racing and Charles, in particular, is fond of the tradition. However, the monarch missed an opportunity for the win after letting go of key asset.

During the 166th staging of the Melbourne Cup, Point of Law, a horse previously owned by King Charles, won the race.

Australian jockey Ethan Brown, who rode the horse to victory, exclaimed, “Don’t wake me up, this is every jockey’s dream.”

It is believed that the horse was sold in August this year to top Australian trainer Ciaron Maher ahead of the spring carnival. According to The Australian, the final sale price was “well north of $3 million”.

The three-year-old colt proved itself to be worth a lot more as he reeled in Royal Supremacy for a win on just his sixth career start.

The new owners of the young race horse are expected to pocket a massive seven-sum figure.

However, Charles could not continue keeping Point of Low as the King was unable to have racehorses shared with other owners. Hence, he agreed to part ways.
