King Charles took a moment to stop and admire one of nature’s delicate displays during his visit to Guyana.
King Charles paused to smell a beautiful water lily at the historic Promenade Gardens in Georgetown.
The King appeared captivated by the flower as he explored one of the city’s oldest public gardens, where the natural surroundings offered a fitting backdrop for an engagement centred on conservation and the environment.
During the visit, Charles met young people creating an environmental awareness mural and heard about local efforts to protect the region’s natural heritage.
He also spent time with horticultural experts, learning about botanical projects and the work taking place to preserve Guyana’s green spaces.
The garden visit formed part of the monarch’s two-day State Visit to Guyana, which marks 60 years of diplomatic relations between the country and the United Kingdom.
Environmental protection has long been close to Charles’s heart.
The King has championed conservation and gardening for more than five decades, making the engagement a natural fit for his longstanding interests.
